  1. Today is his birthday so my brother finally got to see and try on the jeans. He said it's the best gift I've given him yet. I learned a couple weeks ago how a yoke is actually supposed to work, so there's a bit of bunching on the yoke that I wish they didn't have, but he doesn't care. I treated it like a single dart on the center back seam and did not put a curve in the pattern where it attached to the back panels. Lesson learned, and it also explains why the yoke on my pair is a little off too. Next pair will be better, and I'm already thinking about what I wanna do. He thinks the flaws are charming though, so he's happy. (Dorky shirt tuck was just to show the fit of the jeans)

  2. They touched down today and are by far the coolest pair of Sugar Cane jeans I’ve owned. Amazing fabric, details and fit. This is probably the 7th pair of SC’s I’ve owned and already my favorite.

  3. These arrived today. Hi back trousers in salt and pepper over dyed chambray. The fabric is amazing in person. Very light, will be great for summer. The color is the most accurate in the last picture, sort of a grayish brown.

  4. I made a video where I cover 7 pairs of Acronym pants and 4 pairs of Nike ACG pants from the era where Errolson Hugh was collaborating with them. This has by far been the most detailed video I've ever put together. Acronym wise I cover the pants P30A-DS, P10-E, SP29-M, P39-M, P23A-DS, SP29K-M and P53-WS. ACG wise I cover the pants ACG Cargo Trousers Blue, ACG Cargo Shorts, ACG Cargo Trousers Black, and ACG Deploy Cargo Trousers One thing I always miss from newer Acronym pants is how the phone pockets lack extra webbing to wrap over the top of a phone, this is something that was seen on their pants pre 2022 and is for some reason missing today.

  10. Recently gambled and lost on one of these at size 38, though I suspected as much I had to try, they’re so tough to track down. They’re beautiful jackets, and I’ve got one that’s just barely worn and just too small in the shoulders for me, and has relatively small arm holes for a type 2. The denim is stiffer and courser than their recent jeans. Because of the pattern it’s realistically more like a 36, so if anyone is that size and interested drop me a line. It’s about a size too small for me and a size too big for my wife. I’ll eventually list it if I can’t find someone I know will appreciate for it to go to. Meanwhile I’ll go back to hoping one day they will do this again!

  13. @Sarazan One of the best buying experiences I have ever had. Bought the V91-WS. Insanely quick response, great detail in his messages. He offered to take pics/video of the entire packaging and shipping process at the post office. Shipped super fast. Gave tracking fast. All sellers should be like him.

  14. No name vintage engineer/harness boots just arrived. Have bought and sold a few pairs of engineer boots this year because they were either too bulky or too low heeled but found these last week and took a chance. Could do without the zipper but it allows for the elegant slimmer profile and the cowboy heel is a perfect height. The soles need new rubber and the heel caps are brittle but the fit is ace. Great patina too. These might be the ones.

  23. Aaaaannnndddd they're done. Still gotta wash them to get rid of anything from the mill, but they're done. The waistband went much easier this time around. Decided to baste it in place and that made a world of difference (last two pics). I had far less problems getting the needle to grab the inside edge. Went with tucked loops again. Also pleased with how easily my zig zag machine did bartacks on the loops. I think this Janome might run smoother than my 201. He also wanted 7 loops instead of the standard 5 because he likes how it keeps his belt in place better. I'll update with fit pics in a couple weeks after his birthday. Things went really well on this pair though. I wasn't able to use my compensating foot because I realized the needle bar nicks it slightly and I don't want to mess anything up on my Singer. So I had to do most of the topstitching by lining the edge up with the presser foot toe. It was a good lesson in sewing straight and patience, but I think it made me a better sewist because of it.

  27. 😅😅 if I’m being honest, I do have other jackets, but non of them are denim. I wear a jacket for around 6 months of the year. Having more than 1 got to me to a point where I wasn’t really wearing any of them, so I only left the one I liked the most and sold the others. I am eyeing some type I jackets. Possibly FW. We’ll see.

  31. This is an update on my ed39 justv over 4.5 years worth of wear around 3-4 times per week. I have rotated this pair with other denim but it’s been my main jeans since I purchased them. They are slowly forming holes in the crotch area which is normal. I do wish I washed it more often though to get a lighter colour. Mine will defo get a crotch blowout before they turn light enough. Iv been washing them 2 times per year some years 3. They have shrank a little and the legs feel slimmer compared to when I got them. The quality of the denim is top notch (rainbow selvedge) and has high quality pocket bags Edwin’s are under rated for sure. sorry for bad quality image i need to upgrade my phone.

  36. I've already mentioned some of mine in the HMPOJDYO thread but here is the full disclosure. I own 6 denim jackets in all, although currently only the Warehouse gets worn with the Stormrider getting some chillier seasonal use. 1. FW 1942 506XX sz 46 (incoming) - This will be put on ice until my WH jacket starts to get to a decent level, fade-wise. Or if l over cook it and it gets too small. 2. Warehouse 1927 506XX sz 46 - my current wearer until (see above) 3. Lee 1931 101J Cowboy sz 42 - old/worn, a bit slim but doable over a tee. 4. OG Lee 101LJ Stormrider sz 46 (from the early 1960s) - perfect wearerable condition. Worn sparingly in spring/autumn (on the rare occasion when it's not wet). 5. Lee 101J sz XL. This was a tk maxx purchase c.2005 for £25. Made in Tunisia but the fit was spot on so couldn't pass it up. Now lives in London where it gets worn mostly by the Mrs. 6. Lvc 1880s Triple pleated blouse sz XL. Don't wear anymore ( for sale so make me an offer if interested 😊 ) Now all we need is a proper jacket junky thread, to include all jackets, denim and non-denim.

  39. @Cold Summer l've been in it too long, like well before the internet. Between 1986 and 2002 l thought there was just me who was into denim (culture) - l was so stoked to discover Sufu c.2007 (and for some years, Denimbro) that my perspective has been broadened immensely. Between 1986 and 1996 l probably owned a dozen pairs of vintage (40s-70s) 501's, and Between 1997 and 1998 l was down to 2 pairs. A pair of 505 and a pair of 501XX. Then in 1999 l bought my first pair of repro/heritage denims - Lvc 201xx Funnily enough, l think back in 2003 l had 15 pairs of repro levis and by 2005 l had double that and by 40 pairs l had to have a serious talk with myself. Now down to 12 active pairs. Just realised l've been into it now for nearly 40 years 😮

  45. Tezomeya ebizome-iro (madder root + cochineal, mordanted with alum + wood vinegar) henley neck tee Really like this thing a lot. I have two other, much older tees from them as well, which are just as deserving of photo shoots, but I’m wearing one now and the other’s in the laundry. I have a few other newer ones, too, that aren’t yet worth photographing. All that’s to say that I really love their shirts, and will def. be continuing to buy more whenever the opportunity arises. Really great fabric, great dyeing, overall A+ work

  46. Sauce Zhan heavyweight cotton tee garment dyed w/ natural pigment (I think maybe from magnolia?) Picked this up in ~2017 and have worn it a couple times a month since. With all pigment-dyed tees, I really enjoy seeing the border than forms between sun-bleached and not, where they get tucked in. On this one, I’ve noticed something I’d never seen before, which is a darker imprint of the front of the collar on the back of the neck (pics 4 & 6). I can only imagine that it’s from when the shirt is out drying in the sun after getting washed, since those two parts don’t see each other at all when it’s getting worn. In any case, it’s become an absolute favorite detail. I’m bummed out by the polyester stitching, which looks more and more out of place the longer I wear the shirt, but I’m usually able to look past it, and overall I like the shirt a lot

  47. My warehouse 1915 belt loop model (aka 1922 model) which l have been wearing on and off for the last year. Only had one wash since its initial soak. Love the cut details and denim but boy they do seem to fade quick. Phone pics have been 'sufu'd' so click on for a better quality version.
