My 5000bks got a bit of extra wear yesterday, sliding down the road after some moron undercut me, hit the curb then hit me on my scooter. They did remarkably well and were just grazed. My barbour jacket on the otherhand ended up with a couple of holes.

Samurai denim is as hard as nails!

Nice! (for the jeans, not for you)

I'm almost afraid to push my BKs to the limit. Brave man.

I just got an email from Gordon last night about pre and post wash sizing on size 29 710XX and he told me.

Michael,

I've attached a file with estimated post wash measurements for the S710XX190z in size 29. These

measurements are from the first lot. The last lot we received came in a bit smaller pre-wash and I'm not sure

how this new lot will turn out. I'll be taking new measurements when they arrive.

Regards,

Gordon

Does anyone have any info on the Samurai Automobile Club models? I'm interested in the SM5000GT-A model, specifically its incredibly high rise. Anyone seen these in person? http://item.rakuten.co.jp/2nd/sj-sm5000gt-a/

They have them at BiG now:

http://blueingreensoho.com/site/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=3463&category_id=&manufacturer_id=10&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=28

What else do you want to know about them? They're 17oz. zero denim, ufo rivets, hammerloop, no coinpocket, 1st run will have stenciling on the pocket bags. You'll have to talk to Gordon at BiG for rise measurements...but they are high. Link to info page on Samurai site.

thinking about getting a pair of 710s,

http://item.rakuten.co.jp/americaya/s710xx19oz/

http://item.rakuten.co.jp/bears/samuraijeans-s710xx/

i found them on, not sure if either will ship to the US though, so any insight into that would be helpful or where i can purchase a pair in whatever size you all think would be necessary

also - i wear a 32 in the flathead 3001s, so should i go with a 32 in the 710s? i felt they were a little loose after, at least in the waist and probably couldv'e gone with a 31. thanks in advance.

What is the limit?

5000s are near limitless. i fell down a hill going 35 on my longboard like 6 months ago. lost a ton of skin on my hands, shoulder, hip...even a little bit on my knee, though you wouldn't be able to tell looking at my jeans. not a scratch.

BiG seems to have more... features. cinchback, plaid pocket bags, red herringbone lined rear pockets. And that 505 denim is definite selling point even without all the other stuff. The D-stock just seems to be another S5000 collabo with pink coloured arcs and a cute patch.

I was kinda leaning towards the BiG pair because of the things you listed and also if this is true..

went by Big this weekend, saw a sample of the USA model, the back pocket linings actually have the samurai arcs sewed onto it. I guess with enough wears the imprint of the arcs will show through, very cool detail.
Amazing detail if is.

I am still waiting to see better pictures of the D-Stock. The back pocket stitching looks nice.

Unfortunately - this is'nt going to happen....CRY
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but Gordon didn't put that little detail in the back pockets that was only for the sample pair. He couldn't take the risk with all of the levis lawsuits.

Someone needs to make a do-it-yourself kit to make this idea happen...

as with everything, i'm super late, but thanks for the comments on my jins a few pages back. worn them for half the week (rotate with black imperials) and i love them much. y'all are probably right about getting them hemmed too, but i personally enjoy super stacks (and i'm too lazy to find a decent tailor with my school and work schedule).

hopefully i'll come back with them in 2 years and they'll turn out as nice as soloc's.
