Evisu is still loved!

paulo, definitely want to get some gulls onto them - seeing that they're still very nice it'd be nice to right? gotta wait until my colleague makes a trip back to Tokyo though, so salaami you gotta hang on there for a while more. red, blue or yellow gulls? hmm....

and i can understand crash' situation - my waistline have been fluctuating between 31 to 33 for the past couple years too, making it very difficult to stick to just one pair for an extended long period - blame it on the greasy, unhealhty but delicious Malaysian diet!

You not considering getting them painted in London? Would be a lot easier...

And I can't blame the waistline issue on anything as exotic! I just like fatty, sugary food...

thanks for the kind offer paulo, just that shipping would be killer and my colleague goes back quite often for business so i probably won't have to wait too long before i can get them done. i did hear that there's a charge of 1,100 yen to paint each pair of denim in Tokyo if you did not purchase the jeans at the store itself, is it FOC in London?

btw took loads of Evis jackets pics, 3-4 pieces just now - will upload the pics tonight and share with everyone here.

also picked these up thanks to hide-san, my first pair of Labor =)

Well apparently repainting is free in Japan but first paint there might be a charge.

There is a charge of £15 i think in london however last time i had something done i wasn't charged however i cant guarantee if i wouldn't get charged again specially as there is a new girl doing it but last time i went in the she remembered me so she might not charge.

as far as i know, painting of gulls is free only for a brand new pair right now, any repainting will incur a charge of 1,100 yen (about with US11) with a turnaround of 3-4 days, according to my Japanese colleague who enquired for me.

more Evis jackets, first up Evis No.2 Lot 1502.

unfortunately it's crazy expensive - US550, this seller have lots of great old Evis jackets and denim however his prices are a bit on the ridiculous for certain pieces. at least he allowed me to take pics though.

maybe it's because all the pairs that i wanted to have painted are old pairs not bought from the store, therefore i have to pay to get them painted.

Same design, Evis #2 Lot 1502 with Private Stock patch, but more worn out and with red gulls and big gull on the back.

I like that jacket price?

I think you have it the wrong way around. If you check evisu japan webstore they charge you for painting first time. Ive heard its repaints that are free for the lifetime of the garment.

Exactly but some folks never heard of yahoo japan i guess - remember the sucker who dropped us4.5k recently for his denim collection?

might have to pass on the no.1 special jackets, already went overboard this month...

Hes having a joke for that price you can easily get 2-3 jackets of the same quality on yahoo japan.

Im pretty sure they were. The Japanese side of the company has nothing to do with the international side and they almost only ever produce items for the japanese market.

Anyways at the very latest in 2000-2001 they were making LOT2000, 2001 in sizes 24-46 in both NO.2 and NO.1 Denim. Im also sure they were making these sizes from very early on its just they were produced in smaller numbers so show up less.

It seems to be at random. Its most likely to do with when the jackets were made and what selvedge was left over from the cut that couldn't be used for anything else.

yup just like what Paulo said, seems to be random...more Evis!

I'd wear that denim jacket with the daicock. It's the same as my Evis jacket in every other way, but I actually like the style of the paintwork.

Interesting how the daicock developed from the gulls, which of course were a take on the Levi's arctuates...It gets a justifiably bad press most of the time, but I think it works there...

I don't care too much for the daicock, but I thought it worked well on a sweater they offered a season or two ago.

Oh, and thanks for the insight Paulo and Bunga. I'll have pics up soon of my No. 1 Special with the outlandish embroidered dragons, both before and after I tear them out. The selvedge on the buckle strap is a nice touch -- too bad it's random but I suppose that makes sense.

Nice...repped for the find...

"Private Stock: ($600-$700) Replica quality, one-of-a-kind pieces, hand painted logo and numbered. For this line craftsmen use various techniques to create unique detailing (e.g. burns using cigarette lighters, hand painted buttons etc.)"

Hmmmm...

no offense to anyone, but this sounds like overpriced glorified pre-distressing. i could get a pair of #1s from gordon, and let washboy or denim dave have a go at em' for less than $600. where the fuck is DEUS anyway? his #2s blow all this new morrison evisu out the water!

Yeah i was going to say "one of a kind" isnt sounding like its going to be too interesting. Who the fuck thinks i want cigarette lighter burns on my jeans or hand painted buttons.

BTW i smell abit of bullshit with those photos. They have included a worn LOT2000 with red tab. So unless they are buying Japanese stock to distress they just thought oh that looks nice fade stick it in with the others.

EDIT: actually i guess it came from the TATEOTI book which is still bullshit.
