Hell I HAD to go back and get some pics to share...but I could never wear just the one pair of jeans all the time as it kinda limits what else you can wear (quite homo), know what I mean?

And get your arse on Yahoo Japan auctions for some Evis! You know it's gonna be worth it...

the first two weeks i was just contemplating, but now, i can't stop wearing these! you need to get your hands on your own evis!

who wants to start a a world tour for us smaller guys? i don't know if ill use my own pair though...

maybe if i get a second one with just some blank pockets and use that as our base jean.

Still loving the gulls on those jeans, no rep to give you though.

And guilty as charged, but blame the DD+1 for making me want to get some No.1 denim, if I hadn't have found SuFu then who knows what I'd be wearing these days...

Ain't the rate I break in denim, I won't be finished until I'm 30. Sooo depressing....

Well, you know what my answer to that would be! ;)

you need to get your hands on your own evis!

You need to get some actual Evis then, surely those are modern Evisu?

I really wanted a pair of old Evis, now I really really really want a pair of Evis.

Do it! Just go for it!

Following on from what cheapMF said the other day though, maybe it's time to try something other than Heritage jeans? There's a lot of talk about MIJ Evisu denim, Evis and Yamane but they're still far from being common currency, as far as repro denim could ever be considered suchlike.

I was thinking about what he said, and his thoughts on Heritage denim, and it occurred to me that it's really sad that in a thread this size how few pics there are of broken in Evisu denim, of any variety.

I mean, how many pairs of worn Heritage jeans have been paraded here? Less then ten, that's for sure, and that's an embarrassment given that the thread runs to several hundred pages. If most people in this thread are wearing Heritage denim, and talking about how good this model or that model is, yet have nothing to show for it, then maybe that's an indictment of the Heritage denim in itself...Other threads for other brands are awash with pics of what people are doing with their jeans yet here it's mainly talk about what jeans people want to get, and not so much what they're actually doing with the ones that they have...

I'm sometimes guilty of this, of course, but I'm doing my best to document what's happening with the jeans that are getting loving from me...

Maybe time to try something a bit different? If you've been wearing Heritage (or whatever) and been getting nowhere with it, why not look to pick up something that'll do what you want in the long run?

Sorry for the long post, hope it makes sense...

ctb - it's all good, i agreed with what you've said about the Heritage line, which i'm not a big fan to begin with (fabrics, construction etc) and i've not seen any pairs that'd convinced me otherwise.

and speak of the devil - the mailman just delivered the no.1s from lmaozedong! fit pics coming shortly.

Looking forward to seeing them, Bunga!

And all this talk of Evis on here... no one else noticed that there are a couple of pairs on sale in Supermarket?

Some shortened 2101s:

And some rather unusual bootcut Lot 2017:

Never say I never do anything for you lot... :)

i think it would be a great idea. how many of us wear a size 28-29?

I've been wearing my evis everyday actually. im really starting to dig the fit.

this is great to hear. your fit is awesome so i was hoping you'd come around on it :) im a true waist like 30. a 29 would be a squeeze but ive heard of people sizing 1 down on no 1 denim and being able to fit in it once it stretched out a bit. if i were to do a world tour with a 29 i think i would have to be later in the tour so that someone else could stretch them out for me :D

I think that's mostly always been the problem. I think most people go for the MIJ stuff simply because it's.....well.....MIJ. I understand the legacy of the denim also plays a factor, and that some pieces are exclusive....But....

In my experience, the Heritage line compares favorably to most Japanese lines. When I compare my d67's to my Okinawa's, the chain-stictching is thicker, and the pockets are reinforced. Despite the fact that the Okinawa's are the more interesting jean.

The denim for the heritage line is even manufactured in Japan.

I'm sometimes guilty of this, of course, but I'm doing my best to document what's happening with the jeans that are getting loving from me...

I love my heritage jeans, particularly the fact that they're ridiculously hard to fade. Although the d67's been fading, albeit slowly, I just don't think there is much to show, yet.

Crash,

I agree with what you have said. I love my Heritage jeans and the reason I only have Heritage is because when I started buying Evisu Heritage is all that I could find here in the states especially with my limited knowledge. In comparison to the other jeans I own there are very well constructed and the details are awesome. They are very hard to fade as well when compared to others. I would love to beat a pair up and post it on here but when I bought my jeans I sized incorrect and now they fit me huge.

One day when I get fat I'll wear them to death. Hopefully before I'm 50. lol

Thanks but Im looking for details as far as cut and/or denim.

Well what details can you provide? Would you like me to get into contact with the seller and ask if i can pop over to his house and check them out for you? Or will you email him and ask him about the LOT number if there is one or some measurements.

You cant expect to be told what something is if theres clearly no information on the auction. Even the pictures are rubish.

Its likely to be selvedge denim with red line however it could also be D85 denim as normally the early italian jeans with red line selvedge have weird looking guls.

hey this is a great find!

i think evisu has moved on, but they haven't ignored their original philosophy. they are still making the same jeans with japanese denim, in original styles. here is a link to see what i mean >> http://www.evisu.com/blog/2007/06/13/nevada-prototype-jeans/

Interesting.

I'm an oldtime Evis fan, but they really are a dodgy bunch these days. So Evisu wait for LVC to introduce a reissue - then they copy it, right down to the name? (Nevada is LVC's own name for those 1870s jeans, it's not what they were called originally).

I also heard from someone on this board that Evisu ripped off a 1600 word chunk of his book, and when he pointed out they'd contravened his copyright they sent him a letter threatening legal action.

AFAIK the company has nothing to do with Yamane, it's just a bunch of shady people from Hong Kong who think they can rip off anyone just to make a few more $$$.

Nice original catalogue and reminder of the glory days, though.

No offence was intended by my previous comments, just in case any was taken. And it's good to hear how other people think about this, healthy debate is the way forward :)

On a different note, Ming from A Too was impressed when he followed the link to my Evis post and particularly the love for all things Yamane in this thread...He mailed me earlier and may well join SuFu in the very near future to share his denim with us, as he has more Evis to show.

Given that he's obviously an aficionado, it'll be great to have the perspective of someone who's been into repro denim from the early days...
