Skull Jeans by An Alchemist

okey, this is getting a bit confusing. How do you even measure your true waist? If I measure using the skull sizing guide and I measure the 5010 waist I measure a 33, but is this the true waist or is your true waist a different area?

Also if you say true to size, does that mean I get a tagged 33? Or a 32 because the tagged 32 measures 33 inches? Also would I be fine with the 32 or is it recommended to just get your true tagged size? Thinking the 32 might not stretch enough to be able to sag a bit but I don't know. Might me a stupid question but I'm hearing two different things so some clarity would be nice.

@sunkenshoes. I'm no expert but washing your jeans should remove some of the starch thus making them less stiff

i don't blame you for the confusion because it is confusing. for "true to size," measure the area where you typically wear your jeans (be it above the hip or on the hip.) buy that TAGGED size. if you sag your jeans a stupid amount so you can take a shit without touching your belt, you're on your own. (best bet is to size up at least one for this.)

but don't skulls stretch an inch in the waist and are already 1 size larger than tagged? so if his true waist is a 33, shouldn't he go with a 31 cause that's a 32 already and to account for 1 in stretch? unless he's trying to sag..?

sorry if i'm wrong; just trying to help.

Haha, these two posts illustrate my point flawlessly. But I don't hold a 31 as an option, for me its between a 32 and a 33. Just measured where i normally wear my jeans and I measure a 33/33.5. Following the normal advice this would mean a tagged 33 for me. But I also hear I should get a 32 which also makes sense because they measure a 33 inch waist, and given they should stretch an inch they would also probably fit me.

Don't feel like taking the risk so I'm almost sure I'm gonna go with a 33 but it's still confusing, and I have to admit it sounds strange people saying get true to size (tagged) and then seeing that those measure an inch bigger

So whats the real world stretch in the waist for 5010xx anyone have measurements?

Just got my 5010xx and I can button all the buttons but is super tight

and everything else seem to fit ok, will the waist stretch to where it will be comfortable/so I sag a little?

Blackbird has final markdowns right now. Skull 5010 6x6 (indigo) o/w $153. Limited sizes available. I can do pick-ups/proxy if anyone wants one...but I think they might also do phone orders.

Yo: Thanks for the hookups. You saved me $50 or so, was going to pull the trigger on the 17% Self-Edge sale but they only had 29s.

I just picked up a pair of o/w 5010xx 6x6 in size 29, which is my true waist size. Oddly, these jeans are absolutely huge on me in the legs. The waist fits very tight, the way I'm used to on raws. Would these jeans be worth getting tapered?

if size 29 o/w 5010xx's are "absolutely huge" on you in the legs maybe you should invest in some mummy wraps instead... :P

According to measurements, the 5010 is ridiculously skinny for me...but I tried some on today and they actually seem a fair bit bigger than measured on FabFour's site. (Although still skinny in general). Are you planning on getting them tapered from the thigh down?

Yeah, judging by the pics I was pretty surprised as well. I wear size 28 19cm diors perfectly fine, yet these size 29 skulls fit me like 21s. I'm 5'7" and 120 pounds for whoever asked.

I will probably get them tapered from the thigh down. Is that a good idea? Or is there a possibility of them coming part at those seams.
