i guess i'm an insomniac

but tonight i was going to make absolutely sure i went to bed at a moderately reasonable time, so i wouldn't sleep through most of the day

then i stumble upon this thread

i had heard good things about this show before

i decide to type it in on google

i find that the first episode can be viewed on showtime's website

i watch

i enjoy

thoroughly

now i've located a site that has every episode

and so that's what i'll be doing until the sun comes up

I introduced the girl I'm seeing to Dexter and the site I streamed it off by accident when I was looking for a movie.

Ever since then all she does in her free time is watch it and plan what to watch after she's finished.

Last weekend she watched 7 hours of the first series at my place.

Was total Bransplod.

great premise, but i felt it fizzled out a little towards the end of season 1.

the book is better, but again not amazing.

best tv show: i say the wire, by a fair bit (a gay gangsta!! lesbian police officer!! clever criminals!! dirty politicians!!)

my mate says the new battle star galactica is pretty good, but havent watched.

Super good show, and even better book. It does suffer from a few weaknesses:

- If you watch the episodes one-at-a-time with a week between each one, they're great, but watching them all at once makes you realize how unlikely some of the events are.

- It needs to have an end-point. Kind of like lost, this is not a show which can go on indefinitely without REALLY straining credibility. I felt the first season stood VERY well as a single unit on its own. I think the second season was already beginning to push it. I'd say probably 4 should be max.

- The final episode of season 2 was WAAAAYYYYYY too pat. IMHO

I really like the first two season. One of my favorite show. I just hope they won't do 10 seasons of it or get buried away in the next one. But I guess it's following the book, which I don't want to read because i don't want no spoil !
