anything but burton or a ski company (sims, rossignol, etc.)

I ride a Nitro board with Technine bindings. some other good companies are Never Summer, Rome, and Unity, but if you stay away from burton or ski companies you cool in my book.

i have a mid-90's rossignol snowboard that i never ever used. its practically new, just needs a waxing. i guess i was aorund 5'10 when i got it, so its good for that height. i don't want it. someone take it off my hands... $25. i got it for $50 used.

Burton sucks (except for there highest end shit, which is on par with most serious snowboard companies middle/regular end stuff)

Forum is like riding a wet noodle, only buy for park, never liked there boards. (Personal preference)

Ride is a gud company with some great technology in there boards. Buy if your looking to save some money.

Rome is an amazing company, always pulling through with boards + bindings that people adore and loathe over. Bindings are some of the most durable, comfortable and responsive i've used..

Salomon is up and coming, great boards, technology on par with Rome but experimental at the same time. Stay away if your skeptical about a ski brand making snowboards. Its for whole hearted snowboarder who loves a new challenge.

Alot more to mention, too lazy. Go to a skii/snowboard shop and buy a board, tell the staff what you will be riding, your ability level, and your preference in not buying Burton.

You dont size a board by your height. A board cannot tell how tall you are, it compresses to your weight. ie, board thats too big for you is gonna be way to hard to turn since its meant for a fatass who will be able to push it through the turns. Annnnnddd, its not even worth 25 bucks.

My 2 cents.

thanks for that... not sure what its supposed to mean considering i never actually learned to snowboard, so kudos. but yeah, $25 and i'll knit you a pair of gloves if you want it.

i got it at a tag sale. the guy said "this is for someone about your height" and my mom encouraged me to buy it. so i did. and its been sitting in the basement ever since.

$20 + knit gloves + homemade banana bread - you got paypal?

you do size a board to you height jeepster, should hit in a range between your shoulder and your chin depending on how you are looking to ride it, granted wieght does play a large role in sizing a board as well. ive never been impressed by salomons boards which is odd cause i do enjoy skiing their skis

cool.

$10/gloves/banana bread/used condom? u have paypal?

honestly, i never used the board, didn't have much intention to when i got it. it was that middle school phase where i was like "OH MAN IM SUPER REBELLIOUS SSX IS MY LIFE" so i bought it on a whim. unfortunately, i grew ~4 inches that same year, so i was far to tall for the board by the time winter came around, and so its just been collecting dust.

while your comments on the other brands are relatively accurate, this comment seems to indicate you have no idea what the fuck you are talking about.

but you are entitled to your opinion.

Been working at a skii shop for 3 years and Ive seen way to many customers coming back to warranty their snaped/cracked burton boards and broken highbacks on their bindings. Im not 100% sure its the riders trying to be like shaun white but theres certainly a reason why Rome and Ride sell and dont come back to be warranteed.

but then again, its my oppinion on the brand, take it for what you want.

What happens when you have a guy whose 165 lbs and hes is tiny as fuck? Size to there body or weight? Again.. boards can only tell how heavy you weigh. Look on the base of a snowboard in a store and it lists the specs of the snowboard... including the weight range the size is intended for.

^ Under board specs.

Anyways... This is recent purchases....

everyone go out and buy snowboards and show em of!

yeah, i think i was a little rash in buying it (one day only! 40% off! you passed the bar exam!). after i got it home, i thought, "this looks like a j.crew coat (albeit infinitely better made) with a faint chalk stripe down one side of the placket." i'm on the fence.

They are not made in a factory in China by people that don't know a clue a about snowboarding, which is what Burton does

Yeah Burton does have some of the lower/entry level board line manufactured in China like other companies, but they do continue to have boards in the line made in Austria and Vermont.

And I'm pretty sure that all companies have boards come back for warranty, Ride and Rome included. I personally have seen a Rome Agent and Artifact get boxed up and shipped back for warranty.

My current board is a Lib Tech and i'm pretty much in love with it. Pac NW company so I can stay local, they aren't too expensive, and solid stuff.

Check out Capita too, I'm sure insomaniac can back me up that they're worth taking a look at. (i somehow remember she, or someone she knows or something is involved in capita.) Its another seattle brand, so I might be biased.
