That giant list from wordpress is VERY wrong

Louis Vuitton - Loo-ee Vwee-ton (ton is pronounced like... thong without the H and G... lol)... ON makes that sound often in french

Comme des Garcons - Com de Gar-son

DE: Des from destiny without the S

SON: see above with LV, with an S instead of a T

Dior homme - Dee-or oh-mm

Hedi Slimane - eddy slee-ma-nn

Hussein Chalayan - whoo-sane sha-la-yahnn

Goyard - Go-yarr (Like the Goya painting with a rr sound at the end)

Lanvin : Laun-Vin

AUN: Like aunt without the T sound at the end

VIN : see the previously posted Dali clip, he says it right for Vin, the Lan he says is very spanish instead of french though...

Lucien Pellat-Finet - Lu-see-aun-- Peh-lah Fi-ne

AUN : See Lanvin

NE: is same thing as De/Des from CdG except with N instead of D

or if some prefer, Ne from Negative.

Nom de guerre - N-on the gue-rr (kinda tricky this one)

ON: see above with LV...with N instead of T

THE: like The, except without the H

GUE: like Guest, without st

Lucien can be pronounced differently in french depending on where you are

Hope this helps :)

Agnes B.

hurr not sure about this one because the g is in front of the n (if it was the other way around i'd go with what christianjustin said) someone french should chime in. my wild guess would be Ajnés (the j as pronounced french. i don't know a word that would have the same sounding letter)

A. Lange & Sohne

Lange und Söhne - the umlaut has a special pronunciation. might have to search for a soundbit on those (maybe youtube?

)

the 'La' of lange as in singing lalalala

the ng as in 'hang on' (the a here is pronounced like an ä)

the e is a long sound like when you are surprised and say 'eeeeeeeeh!?'

Söhne

S more like a smooth Z

rest just like above, make sure you are able to articulate the word properly before you try saying it fast

Carol Christian Poell (So is it one or two syllables?)

dunno where this name is from so...

Tag Heuer

Tag - the a is long as in machine

Heuer - like Hoia - same on the a

Balmain

Bal - long a again like above

main - it's a nasal tone and i can't think of an example

Jaeger Le Coultre

i've always pronounced the Jäger deutsch and the rest just french

americans usually say Jaygr or Jäigr, try getting rid of the i/y

Jäger Lö Cooltr (i would breathe out the e at the end, the r is a rather harsh sound that almost gets stuck in your throat)

Longines

i don't know how to do this one - but probably the Lon is again a nasal tone, then the 'ng' is like the G in Gerrard when your drunk and slurring it, the rest is straightforward

Maurice Lacroix

Moriss Lacroi - do it in a french accent, the double s means it's a sharp sound, intonation is the key and can be a bitch

Officine Panerai

O-fissin (both i's are sharp) pronounce to O like the 'hau' in haute couture

Baume et Mercier

Blancpain

all i know is that the c is swallowed, the rest is just nasal tones. look for a soundbit for the white bread ;)

Tissot

Tisso - this should be pretty straightforward by now, with a french accent (just like the officine one)

well that took longer than i thought... kinda fun though

i hope it helps in some way. just practice till you can properly articulate the words before trying to say them fast

The "B" in Agnès B is more like "bay", without the diphthong in the end. Just pronounce the initial "é" sound, not the "y" that you have in "bay" (not sure if that makes sense).

Agnès is "anyes", with two short vowel sounds.

In IPA, it's something like [aɲɛs be]

Wow I never even imagined people could have so much trouble pronouncing (short) French words ... but that's probably because in Canada we are forced to take French from early elementary school up to grade ten.

"Lanvin" seems so obvious to me, but I can see why it would be mystifying to someone who's never been taught French. The simplest way to explain it would be that it sounds like Law[n]-va[n], with [n] being the sound at the end of "awwwwww" (what you say when you feel bad for someone), it has a hint of an N sound but is nothing like the hard N in the word "On." And the emphasis goes on the second syllable.

p.s. Lewis Vwitten, obv.

I always thought that Lanvin was pronounced how it is written above but now I am confused :))

carol christian po (how black people say police)

lolwut.

the name is Austrian, its pronounced pöll (ö = sort of like the ea sound in learn or the i in dirty)

however, people usually tend to pronounce it more like pole.

dropping half of the name out when pronouncing it does not make you cool.
