mad that our 1# draft pick was wasted (along with 20 million bucks and counting) and that oden will likely never touch the floor again in the blazers uniform? no, actually, more than anything I feel terrible for the dude and the city, but at least we can move on, get him off the books/off our backs and figure out what's next.

mad that some LA boosting doof is still faux-analyzing the most obviously one-sided "who should they have picked?" scenario? sure, that's annoying.

It was obvious during that draft that oden was prone to injury as he was pretty much injured his entire college career, and Portland is known for making ill advised draft picks anyways, sam bowie over michael jordan in 84' being one example.

LOL @ these shallow arguments created through the info you probably got from a twenty-second bit of SportsCenter.

It was quite evident that Oden was a gonna be a damn great big man (at the time) especially considering how he led Ohio to a championship despite his injury. It's hard nowadays to find a big-man that can dominate like Oden has the potential to, the only true candidate today is Howard, followed not very closely by the likes of Lopez, Bogut, Jefferson.

And Portland making ill draft picks? The Bowie pick is may have been horrendous, but it only gets the heat it does because Jordan is (arguably) the best player in the history of the NBA. Have you forgotten about Drexler, Walton, Petrie, Porter, Wicks? Roy and Aldridge are the best players to come out of the '06 draft, with the exception of maybe Rondo who didn't even blossom until the '08-'09 season.
