The Flight Jacket Thread

I'm posting this everywhere cuz I'm psyched to get this shit. I just ordered a bomber from TOJ but with no epaulets and I lengthened the body to give it a unique look. I've always loved bombers but never got one because I think they look too short on most people so this should be really unique looking.

I love that 18091 Grant, just get's better.

IIRC it's a 42", can you tell me what the sleeve length, chest and shoulder measurements are?

I'm currently in line for a goat GW and aiming for a Bronco or 18091, it's tricky choice.

Hey Airfrog

have placed a deposit down for my custom sized 44 Monarch M-422 from John at Goodwear.

Hoping for it to arrive before Christmas. Cant stop thinking about it....!

CONGRATS. I love mine. The weather just got cool enough to start wearing jackets here. I'm thinking of getting one of Johns 1939 Werbers. If I do I will probably sell my A-1 and my Dubow to finance it.

  • 2 weeks later...

Those 1939 Werbers are the dogs. Johns done some excellent work on that, I feel the need to place another order but that's just madness.

One Good Wear Dubow A-2 size 42" for sale in the supermarket and an RMNZ Rough Wear....

even though it looks slightly too big,its just about right.I tried a 42 that looked perfect in the mirror but as soon as I started to move it was too small, not giving me enough room, the sleeves where too short when I raised my arm and so on.As I commute a lot on a Vespa this is the perfect jacket for the colder times.

Somehow my bankaccount isnt ready for leather yet...

wait first im going with the doniger .. but after careful research im going for the dubow with collar stand... is it a good decision?

Yes! The 20960 is a beautiful contract, very easy to wear as it has the basic Dubow shape and the pocket shape and collar look stunning!

Cheers,HH.

why does it say "Experimental Test Sample" on the inner tag?

regarding to Aero it was developed as a substitute for the "luxury leather" A2,didnt it went into production?

It also doesnt have the US Airforce print on the sleeve, unlike the ones from other makers?

so many questions, but this one went into my hands like virgin Mary got Baby Jesus.when I woke up yesterday morning I didnt have a clue that 6 hours later this beauty would be mine!

HH,would love to see pics of yours.

I hope you haven't sold this jacket. Your ominous "my old Buzz B-10" statement has me worried.

I'm sorry, did you say you have a picture of a jacket? ... Oh, there it is. All I could see was the fantastic painting of a fantastic girl....

Super nice art work!

Speaking of B-10's, here's a couple photos of my old buzz B-10. Artwork was done by the master of jacket painting Jerome Urbaniak. Jerome based the artwork on the nose art of an 8th AF B-17.

The A2 on top is made by Vanson about 4 years ago.dont know how acurate they are.He was too busy serving customers to give me details, but even if these jackets not authentic, they are worn to such an extreme that make them look just awesome.if you want more details on them let me know,i will visit the shop very soon again.

HH,as you pmed me that you tried the B10 in three different sizes,I would like to know your "normal" size and which size you ended up with.just wondering if the Aeros do run a bit small,as mine is a tagged 44,largest ( denim) jacket ive had so far was a 42.but as mentioned before, the 42 wouldnt give me enough room.
