Gorgeous piece. Times seem to be ripe for a first oil treatment, even though it is in no way screaming for it, i'd give it a quick rubdown just because it deserves it

Good colour on that, very different from other modern veg. tanned leather!

Agree with Ord, a bit of oil will give the belt a nice golden tone

The awl on a swiss army knife does a pretty good job making a belt hole if you don't have the right tools.

don`t have a swiss army knife as well

as long as there is a hole now and the belt suits my needs, it`s all good...

def. will do things a bit different on my next project (if there will ever be one again!)...thanks though!

Thanks. Lots of patience with a ball-peen hammer, but the effect is pretty cool.

Thanks ItsJustNC. I made the belts, they're classic Herman Oak 14oz (I love how this stuff darkens), and I alter the buckles with a ball-peen hammer. I would love to get into more metal work, but right now that's just not in the cards.

Picked this belt up at the local county fair a couple days ago. For $13, the smartassed atheist in me couldn't pass it up. The print repeats over and over the length of the belt.

Apolis made some last season called hoofpick belts($138). Apparently there are a few brands doing that but I only know of Apolis and now Pherrows.
