Alot of koreans tell me church is primarily a networking thing so they can get business contacts and potential loans to open up a say a yogurt shop or a laundromat in a really bad neighborhood.

who doesn't "gossip"? it's a form of making small talk..

Asians, however in general doesn't like to brag, they're more humble at the same time praising others.. mom would be like, "no! my daughter isn't smart..why she got a C on her last exam and I have to send her to a tutoring afterschool program..not like your ______"

if I did get an A it's "only cos I had to make her go to a tutoring afterschool program!!"

in turn her friends would do the same..praise me and belittle their own kids

when going out to eat, they also like to fight each other when the bill comes..to see who gets to pay..
