I ate chinese food once a week every week last year. I managed to lose 30 lbs from September to May. Shit ain't unhealthy. Just delicious.

69 bayard st. is also gud. between mott and elizabeth, it's the spot that's open late and the interior has $1-20 bills taped all over the walls & ceilings with red sharpie marks all over them.

and another spot that's more closer to the east vill i guess and is pretty decent is congee village on allen st. btwn broome and delancey(they haz a bar there too along with downstairs private rooms + karaoke). it's the place with all the bamboo/plants/fountains/big ass neon sign in front.

haven't yet encountered one. Japanese, yes, Thai, yes (though I hate Thai), pan-Asian, yes, but not a single decent Chinese place.

Chinatown has tons, but unless you speak chinese you'll be stuck with essentially the original cantonese dishes that all the americanized crap is based on. Which can be good, but isn't usually exciting.
