Nah man, have to disagree. Pontypool is one of my more memorable recent releases. I like how it breaks a lot of typical zombie film cliches. The abstract linguistic aspects (apart from their implausability) gave it the same kind of feel I get from Charlie Kaufman films. I also love that it maintains tension with miminal action and that most of information the audience receives is from distant audio sources (kind of like a film version of the War of the Worlds radioplay).

Anyway, my girl is taking me to see this tonight:

About fucking time. I've been waiting on the film for many a release date push back. Pretty psyched that Omar be in it. I loved the book and I've heard that Cormac got a screening before its conditional release. He said the world presented on screen was just as he imagined it. I'm not convinced that he was being sincere; apparently the basement human stock scene is missing. IMHO this is a pretty important scene for establishing the nature of some of the inhabitants of Cormac's world.

From this point on, anyone watching camp/retro horror movies should be required to post a few lines of classic dialogue.
