best vneck tees

what are the best white and black vneck tees?

i'm looking for ones that aren't too low vneck like american apparel or polo, one thats very high up...

im also looking for thin ones, that have thin fit and aren't too short...

kind of like c&c california shirts.

tried one on at barneys.. called generra? it was a very nice vneck, and it was that thin type of treated cotton (they had a discussion on this and i totally forgot the name) where it has been chemically treated to be more than that your average shirt. the v actually was actually not that exposing for a change. i just couldnt justify spending 60 dollars on a plain white vneck tee.

if anyone could elaborate it would be great.

I bought two by Acne. Its like a 2 stage v neck cut, steep at first then cuts to a shallower. Its like a V neck ending at a U neck, if you get my drift. really nice cotton too.

hanes tagless pretty shallow and C;ub monaco almost always has basic v-necks. COuple seasons ago the v was medium, the last one I bought month or 2 ago was pretty shallow as well. AA makes a dee-v and a regular v. Maybe you were just look at the deepv.

Why dont you just get the AA one? your best bet for a vneck is AA, if you want something a little nicer I have a great spruce vneck and I am sure the Ganera one is really nice.

Can someone please explain to me what Base Control is? and is it worth getting it over something like AA or Gap?

uniqlo has alright ones but the fit into too good. i just got 2 d&g ones and im pretty impressed.

have you tried the athletic fit v neck from the Gap...........they actually fit well and have a shallow neck and the material is thin. they run 8-12$

gennera is a cool brand but a bit too pricey. try some james perse. it's like a less trendy AA

Base Control is a japanese brand, they make basic apparel (à la AA) but slighly nicer quality from what I've seen but the cuts are quite big. They have a store on Meiji dori in Shibuya.

Thats right. I used to work in that whore shop and their plain pima v's were the only thing i would wear. Super comfy - good price. Watch for snags though, the pima gets holes really easy.

The AA regular v-neck is not that deep - wearing one now, hits about an inch below my sternum. Significantly higher and it might as well be a crewneck. The AA deep v-neck is very low cut, almost silly.

Bump. Almost two years later. Any new recommendations for great vneck shitrs. I'm looking for:

1. basic white or black

2. Not too deep (ie. above the sternum)

3. Slim or form fitting

4. Quality cotton that will keep its form

i'll say the tommy hilfiger "stay white" vneck and those are amazing, using some kind of dupont material...something like that...and i wash em and wear em for now almost 5 months and it still stay white like new. Not very low v neck but is just perfect for undershirt..

I got a $12 3 pack of black Levi's V-necks at muthafuckin' Ross. They're great. nice length, and good depth of V. All I could ask for is some heavier fabric, but it's no biggie.
