Hoggy, wear them around the house fully buttoned up (you should be able to do that ok) with no belt for a few evenings, doing bends and stretches, etc. They'll stretch out comfortably on the waist, no problem.

Should have shoved a stretcher in the waistband during soak, But otherwise fit looks excellent.

It's my gut, isn't it

It's not so much the fact that it's there, it's more that a tight fit exaggerates the fact that it's there. I think the raw fit, other than being a little big in the thighs, looked better (and way more comfortable!). I'm willing to bet the 34s aren't done shrinking, and that a 36 when completely shrunk up would probably put you in between where the 34s started and where they're currently at.
