According to Lightning Magazine founded in 1991. However, their hang tangs have a 1992 printed on it.
It's a bit of a mysterious brand. They sell their items through an agent to the shops. There are allegedly 3 people behind this brand and they do a lot of sewing on their own.

Mostly known for their tops, especially sweaters and t-shirts. They also do pants from time to time like chinos or jeans.

Their most famous item is probably the 92022 loopwheel sweater which they offer since 1992.
Based on this, I guessed the first two numbers of the items are connected when it was first released and it matched e.g. with their jeans they offered in 2021 as an anniversary model.
But there are also items which contradict this claim.

We have a few of their sweatshirts in our house. Like them very much. I say “we” because my wife wears them as much as I do.

@ATWM I have ordered one of their 92022 sweaters from BEARS and will hopefully receive them next week or. I know many here like their sweaters so I wanted to try them out as well.

@Double 0 Soul I will add additional pics soon and add some more info about the jeans. The chinos ended up with me like 2 years ago or so. A bit tight but wearable. I'm currently loosing weight again.

That’s a good fit Tilmann, especially now you’re slimming down again, where did you pick them up?

I think Flash had a pair of their jeans years ago and Mr Black may have one of their sweatshirts.

@Maynard Friedman thanks! Bought them from Yahoo Auction using Japanrabbit this time to show Neal if its use is worthwhile :D

Thankfully they look great or I’d have to sit in the corner wearing my denim dunce cap.

@OutSider first suggested Japan Rabbit some time ago.. I read in their FaQs that we would still be responsible for fees.. although it was a little ambiguous,  b_F was kind enough to try them out.

Thanks again Tilmann 👍

Yeah, I had to size up from 34 to 36.
The 529  chinos made from Westpoint/Weapon cloth (right hand twill) are very nice with most details of the 40s and reasonably priced at around JPY 17,000 to 20,000.
They are a bit on the slimmer side with the rise more a mid-rise.

From the same fabric they also have the 536 work pants, which are wider with a higher rise. (edited- I had mixed things up a bit)
And there is a  528 W, which is even wider, I think.

I also have this short sleeve sweat shirt, which is also very solid.

The jeans are made of 14oz red-line selvedge denim. The cotton for the warp is from Zimbabwe but you can also find the information it being Supima cotton. The weft is US cotton or recycled cotton, both information can be found. The development of the denim started ewarly on in the brand's life but only in 1998 or 99 they were confident enough to release it. It is designed to be tough and fade slow. It's dyed double the times than regular denim whatever this means. The old Lighning Magazine did a rating about fading speed. Momotaro and SDA were labelled 'slow', this Two Moon denim was rated 'very slow'. Perfect for a me as a collector...

Looks like quite a lot of research and trial and error went into these jeans.
Pretty cool, that they have been sold for more than 25 years.

Where did you find your pair?
It seems like they haven't released any in several years.

Between us, Mrs. CSL and I have a number of Two Moon sweatshirts, most of those being two-tone combinations. The largest size just about fits me.

I've always bought directly from Take Off, who would appear to stock the biggest selection of the brand.

What are the advantages of Japanrabbit over other online/automated proxy services?

Being able to set your own declared value is the main advantage. For us Canadians we have a measly $20 gift limit before we’re taxed so being able to declare a lower value is a nice benefit.
Though the fact that if shipping via EMS, they will use Canada Post when in country and I’ve always ended up paying no taxes this way.

Otherwise I use Buyee other JapanRabbit
