This email just got sent out by Evisu to their online customers.

Evisu will buy your unwashed stinky six month old jeans and give you a brand new pair.

It would be a fantastic archive to see a massive collection of nicely distressed unwashed japanese selvedge denim. I will try and get some pics and post them here.

the diacocks have come off completely?!

that's amazing, Dr J. are those yours?

i cannot say how much i like the fact that they've provided us with buckleback options.

They are mine, but they're very old now - I bought them in 97 or 98.

6 months? As light as those are?

No, they're a lot older than that, but the paint was gone within 6 months to a year.

after just wearing them, or after some washes as well?

I'd like to see the front of those jeans...this is a cool idea.

i'm not too sure i get the idea, the reason for wearing jeans for so long is to get a one of a kind pair. sure getting there is half the fun, but when i'm satisfied with a pair, i want to keep it....

if they had a similar service for cell phone for example, i would be really down with that, i broke too many of these fucker

I probably washed them about once a month, but they got a lot of wear too.

Here's the front:

were they the handpainted gulls?

They were the very first ones to have the hand-painted giant gull down both legs. TBH I'm glad the paint wore off, as it looked, to quote a friend: "like you'd been done up the donut by an elephant."

I was working for Diesel at the time, so I only wore them on my days off and nights out for the first few months, but when I left there and went to do my PhD they got a lot of use.
