very nice Whites Denimjunky

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of a pair of Alden Kidskin boots (the ones from Davichan). Hope they fit me because I have no experience with the modified last.

Look at his sig. If I'm not sorely mistaken these are the W+H service boots everybody was lusting after ... 3? ... years ago.

For some reason they always look like that when not worn.

I fucking hate those boots and I want to vomit every time I see them. Blah!

In other news, Dayton has an upcoming groupon offer where $25 gets you $100 towards a purchase (with up to two groupons on a boot, i.e. up to $150 off). Locals only, but I hope to investigate what kind of makeups are available. I wonder if they can make something similar to a Bounty Hunter...

Damn those last two pair of SD are good looking. Make me realize how great the standard dress brown leather is and how nicely it wears in. Make me want to get a pair like those last ones posted to go along with my double leather sole cap toes which are now put away for the winter.

Today rocking my new Alden x Context cordovan tankers...my first pair of cordovan boots. Pics to follow sometime.

how does the fit differ with the swing last? do i need to size differently from the regular sd last?

Actually I got my swing last SDs in size D. These are size EE, so its kinda hard to tell. The D even though swing last fitted me tight at first. Surely a standard last size D wouldnt fit me.

What the hell size are those, they look like clown boots!

Clown boots lol, what size are your feet?

I fucking hate those boots and I want to vomit every time I see them. Blah!

C'mon, don't be shy, tell us how you really feel.

They are awesome in every way... the distressing and markup over Dayton's standard service boot (also excellent imo) rubs some people the wrong way, which I can understand.

I find the brown dress leather rather boring. All of the pictures I've seen of it look dark and flat. I'm much more intrigued by the brown smooth leather, but if you've got some good pictures of the dress leather try and convince me.

My issue with those boots is not one of aesthetics, but rather ethics. If you want details, search the thread.

Question for you White's SD/Bounty Hunter owners: how do you find the 5"/6" height of the boot, in terms of comfort? I read somewhere (Baker Shoe?) that they don't recommend the 6" height on the BH as it can be uncomfortable around the ankle. Most of my boots have a shaft around 6" and some are more uncomfortable than others. I suppose a rolled top would be more comfortable than a cut top too. Thanks.

Nevermind, deal is only good for current stock.

These things look awesome IMO, and that is brown dress leather I believe. It isn't the most exciting when brand new, but when it gets scuffed it takes on these awesome light brown shades and becomes way more interesting. Contrary to its name, great leather to beat up on as it just looks better and better.
