Shoes that look better with age...

Anyone else think it's high time we get updated evo photos of zakurie's MOTOs? It's been 2 months and at the rate they changed between his first couple sets of photos, they could look like totally different beasts by now.

Sorry for the delay, but here are some updated pictures of my MOTOs. Unfortunately, I haven't been wearing them very much because I need to wear my steel toes for work. As a bonus, the pictures show a brand spankin' new pair of MOTOs in the same color, which are the shorter version of mine. They are beautiful before and after.

This pic is from earlier in the thread...but just wanted to confirm they are AF60's? Going from the soles, speed hooks and captoe it's a done deal, but for some reason I can't wrap my head around it...They seem a little more "sleek"/"vintagey" for the plaza last? (If that makes any sense...)

EDIT: upon further review, I guess it's just the side angle...the plaza has a flatter toe box than, say a grant last toe box, which I'm used to so I guess that's whats throwing me off

Another Red Wing sizing question. I looked through the thread and get the standard size down .5-1 size. Is this from dress shoes/standard boot size or from casual/sneaker size?

I'm a 9.5 dress shoes (Allen Edmonds, vintage Florsheim), a 10 in Adidas casuals and 9.5 in Jack Purcells. I also have the LL Bean Katahdins in 9.5. I'm interested in the 8146 model (I think the same as the J Crew rugged classics). Any help would be much appreciated.

What's the difference between the Beckman and the Gentlemen's Traveler?

Is it just the leather? Has this Q been asked before?

Beckmans = a better grade of leather (supposedly), right? Horween if I'm not mistaken. Hmm, was it HH by chance? Anyway the above picture are of the same boot just the color has been changed for effect.

Do you still have them? Or did they go to someone else now? I believe the chain of ownership on your pair was me, then Bill, then you...

i will never let these babies go!

Bought some new boots - White's Traveler (basically a Semi-Dress with block heel). Captoe with black hardware and leather lining. Wanted something I could wear on weekends as well as in business casual environments

This thread is getting unreadable real quick. What used to be a dense collection of posts full of knowledge, tips, and amazing pictures is being dominated by questions about sizing and model comparison. A SuperLeather or Superweltedshoes forum could do so much to preserve the integrity of this thread.

I like those, but wish White's would make their cap toes a bit more sexy. It's just so plain...

I like the really plain cap toe, these aren't exactly sleek dress boots like an Alden so I find their toe cap fitting.

Thanks for sharing the pics, I have a pair of semi-dress coming with cap toes and love seeing others as there aren't very many pics of this option out there. Those boots look great, though I think I personally prefer the standard heel over the block heel on the White's.

^sorry for ruining your reading experience tmadd. What good are tips and knowledge if not to benefit those who aren't in the know? I'll be sure to wow you with "amazing pictures" when I get the sizing right and get my boots.

Definitely not a case in which you, or anyone else needs to take offense. I have no problem with the increased traffic of this thread, and I think that it is great that more people are interested in buying nice boots, and I understand (from personal experience) that it is necessary to rely on advice when making such purchases, and this is as good a place as any to do it. My complaint is simply one of organization. There is too much content being generated on a daily basis, and too many separate conversations happening (sizing, maintenance, where to buy, collection porn, fit pics, etc.) for this to flow well. Probably also worth mentioning that ruining peoples reading experience is a valid thing to think about, because if it gets bad enough that longtime contributors stop reading, they will stop contributing, and everyone loses.
