  1. Been searching for a pair of vintage OG-107s that are long enough for my legs and finally found a pair about a week and a half ago. Made in 1977, still has the button fly which I wanted, and got that nice n slubby sateen. Jacket is Oshkosh, hoodie Champion RW, boots Blundstones

  2. Couple shots of the raw fit. If this is banner, I know I'm in for hecka shrinkage, but I really like the rise, I hope it stays as lengthy as it was raw. Waist will be fine, the thighs will need a bit of caution as always. @Maynard Friedman the red tab held up pretty well. They're now in the wash!

  4. My S1003XX arrived today, so here are some raw images and measurements... You'll see all the details below. I'm relatively certain it's banner denim, but I can't be sure - I've only seen Banner raw once. I feel I've struck it lucky here anyway! I'll be washing them at some point soon then working out how long I want them - I'm going to go for some cuff this time out, I reckon. Not too much though. I've spammed a tonne of images in the hope that someone may have some idea on date or fabric type. Not bothered with an inseam measurement, but it stands at about 34 1/2" at present.

  5. Next prewash update Ooe Yofukuten Lot OA01XX-0522: The pair feels very light and extremely comfortable on the body (sometimes I feel Zimbabwe cotton like FC), fit well on the body, joyful experience Thread count, thread color and stitches per inch are well balanced throughout the pair and helps create an elegant look and feel. Consistent placement of iPhone in right front pocket has left marks of usage (not very prominent) Whiskers are prominent Buttons have become shiny (couldn't capture well by camera) Usage of wallet in left back pocket developed marks, waiting for blowout with more usage Nice puckering on back pockets and yoke raised loops have started fading nicely I liked slight puckering of waist band (maybe I will not like extensive puckering) raised loop like double stitching, from crotch area to yoke with raised cloth , caused similar character like "raised loops fading" (either deliberate by OA or incidental , though very nice). leather patch still intact and very soft like silk train tracks are prominent copper rivets at pockets have started change in color honey combs the best roping, I have experienced so far among all Japanese Raw Denim pairs I have though not well captured by camera but stitching on inseam looks very elegant An unwanted crease during 1st wash also got prominent (my mistake during first wash)

  7. My initial thoughts when i clicked on that^^ link was that was beatle I suppose.. that's the thing with forums.. it only takes a handfull of prolific posters to shift the entire look of the herd. I'm not sure i'd even describe that^ look as 'general hipster' i'd describe it as 'sufu 2010'.. it was a very particular aesthetic.. i never saw anyone in the wild dressing the sufu way back then.. we had plenty of hipsters who wore skinny-ass jeans but it was a world away from the 2010 sufu uniform. The aesthetic here has obviously changed over the years.. it's down to the contributors rather than fashion influence.. all it takes is a few of the regulars to start wearing something different and within 12mths we will all be wearing the same shit.. in the world of the normies, we're individuals but in the microcasm of sufu.. wees just sheep In 2012 when we were all on shore leave the Mister Freedom thread got bumped by the minute.. it hasn't been bumped in over a year.. all it would take is a couple of enthusiastic posters and the CPO shirts will be back up to a thousand quid!

  15. Thanks... after the 'button banter' in the questions thread the other day, I was being a bit tongue in cheek... The jacket is deliberately big in order to layer / wear other jackets underneath... and, as you spotted, it has pretty big sleeves, which I decided to use the button to tighten causing a more billowy effect which I'm okay with... cuffing is a good shout thanks... but adds some bulk when I tried it as you can see from the pics... will give it another go next time

  23. I had the original Internationalist in 1984, before they put that plastic thing around the bottom of the heel cup. I also had some Air Pegasus mk II in around 1988 in silver/grey with a teal swoosh iirc.

  26. I'm always looking for viable clarks wallabee alternatives, padmores and barnes was on my list of course but this is the first I've heard of wildbunch. They look great

  27. My first 'proper' shoes I bought myself were some desert boots in cola. Since then I've aways had a soft-spot. My tuppence about Clarks, most fall to pieces after a while but the odd pair last. Had my new wallebee's since before summer and the heels are still in good condition. Padmore & Barnes have much better construction but run small & are quite heavy imo, not really a good thing for a summer shoe. Had about 5 or 6 pairs of Wild Bunch shoes, construction is great and ain't going to break the bank.

  28. Some progress updates on my 400T. Wore these for pretty much 6 months straight in 2024, and then added into a rotation with a few other pairs after that. I think I've washed these about 4 times so far, but I honestly can't remember at this point. The verticle slub has started to really pop.

  31. I watched that Wim Wenders film 'Perfect Days' earlier.. i really enjoyed it, it's an ode to unpretentious Japanese minimalism.. a story of Hirayama, who cleans toilets and finds pleasure in the simple beauties of life.. listening to old cassette tapes, riding his bike, books and photographing trees. It's lovely.. i like those slice of life films where nothing actually happens. In stark contrast.. i'm currently at Unit with the boy I've ordered fried chicken & canadian bacon.. served on a freshly baked waffle with maple syrup.. ..outside, is some Bladerunner-esque, lit brutalism

  40. Wash day today! I’ve never made a habit of taking pre-wash photos of jeans, partly because I’ve always cared more about the long term than about the day-to-day and wash-to-wash changes, but mostly because I think that having any folds creases / bags makes it a whole lot harder to get consistent lighting, and as a result the photos tend to look artificially contrasty. Anyway, I think I might try to be consistent about it for these jeans. I don’t expect to wear my ‘51 601xx or my Foreman Pants much in the next year and a half, so I’ll try to always include those as a color / saturation reference. That said: 3 weeks’ daily wear, before washing: …and after: Really pleased with how they’re coming along, even if still skeptical about how fast they’re losing color. Good puckering and roping, and a really great crinkle to the fabric that got brought out by the trip through the machine—it reminds me a lot of some old White Oak denims in that regard, although of coarse it’s early to say much. Noticed some cute evidence of a little loom chatter on the back of the right leg, above the knee, that’s lightened up a little extra. Disappointed by how much the patch had already faded—wasn’t the fancy foil stamp supposed to help with that?—but overall feeling plenty good about the prospect of another 17 months and change in these.

  41. And for reference here is a photo earlier today of my 2002 fit wise. Noticeably slimmer all over but particularly in the shoulder.

  42. Not that it’s a competition but my one wash DD-2001 just came in and it’s yet further proof as to why I love Banner so much. Type 1s suits my build far better than Type 2s - particularly my paper tag 2002 and Banner is also way comfier right off the bat. I can also actually button this up fully, comfortably. It’s a 44, 2002 is a 42, the largest size that was available. DD-2001 pocket on the left. 2002 pocket on the right. Very stoked.

  43. I'm down to 2x pairs at the mo.. a pair of Waffle 2 and a pair of Elite's.. the 1978 vintage repros from 7 or 8yrs ago with the slightly washed out suede and the purposely yellowing midsole and tongue .. I think i'll bust them out of storage for my summer shoe.
