Wash day today! I’ve never made a habit of taking pre-wash photos of jeans, partly because I’ve always cared more about the long term than about the day-to-day and wash-to-wash changes, but mostly because I think that having any folds creases / bags makes it a whole lot harder to get consistent lighting, and as a result the photos tend to look artificially contrasty. Anyway, I think I might try to be consistent about it for these jeans. I don’t expect to wear my ‘51 601xx or my Foreman Pants much in the next year and a half, so I’ll try to always include those as a color / saturation reference. That said: 3 weeks’ daily wear, before washing: …and after: Really pleased with how they’re coming along, even if still skeptical about how fast they’re losing color. Good puckering and roping, and a really great crinkle to the fabric that got brought out by the trip through the machine—it reminds me a lot of some old White Oak denims in that regard, although of coarse it’s early to say much. Noticed some cute evidence of a little loom chatter on the back of the right leg, above the knee, that’s lightened up a little extra. Disappointed by how much the patch had already faded—wasn’t the fancy foil stamp supposed to help with that?—but overall feeling plenty good about the prospect of another 17 months and change in these.23 points

A friend of mine had pulled up a whole lot of irises, so I got my hands on some and spent this afternoon weeding / turning / planting / mulching The bulbs were in big root clumps of 10–20 per, so the first step was shaking them all apart Turned the old soil—really nice and easy after a week of heavy rain—then fortified with some new topsoil. Probably pulled 100+ linear feet of old bamboo roots in the process Then in with the bulbs, plus some forget-me-not seeds, and a layer of mulch for safe keeping. The awful saturated false red is all my neighborhood shop has, and I can never be bothered to go farther afield for something better. After a few weeks in the sun, it does end up bleaching to a nice facsimile of honest redwood feat. Union Special, Two Ears Brand, Great Lakes, Hollows, Russell6 points

For many years I have been eyeing the ”new” version of the TCB Type 2 jacket. I got the old version in a smaller size but found it too slim for my liking. This time I sized up to a 46 so I can layer it with a thicker shirt or a sweater. I’m really happy with the fit. Much better proportions from the old one. sorry for the bad picture 😕3 points

Hi all I’ve always been interested in clothes, doing the vintage 70’ies hippie style in my teens, then more streetwear and skateboard style the first part of my 20’s. When I finally had some money finishing uni, I was in a rut. Now I had money but felt too old for streetwear and did not really like the prep or business style. Luckily I had a great colleague who one day brought my 4 of his old selvage jeans for me to have, and then I was hooked! This is now 6 years ago and I’m been reading here the last 4 years, due to the purchase of the FC 1110XX which has the red tab and arcs, but when I found photos of the model elsewhere there were no arc or tabs – then superfuture taught me why. Currently, these are the jeans I use year around: Full Count - 1110XX Oni Denim - 622ZR Japan Blue - Jeans J366 3Sixteen - NT-100xk Freenote Cloth - Avila Levi's -501 - Brown Naked and Famous -Milk denim - Wierd Guy Edwin - Regular tapered - Ecru Sugar Cane - 66 Warehouse - 1001xx1 point

Na, not many of them. Before I got into ultralight backpacking, I had one and it was very much MiVietnam. Was still a great pack though if you wanted something bomber. Their firefighting packs still may be though.1 point

Baggy is in apparently, Heech junior is either rocking my old FW47'S that are four sizes too big or a pair of 80s Carhartt carpenter/painter pants, and like you said, all pulled in with the belt. He's got all my 'old vintage' tees and tops too, mostly TKmaxx finds some fifteen years old now and my old Denimbruin tee l got from Mr Randall. Good to see stuff still being reused .1 point

Well remembered Neal, l am impressed. Yeah still going strong, they are my Roy OG's from 2010. Funnily enough my son recently wore them to cart a load of paving slabs, hollow block and hard-core round from next doors, as they're moving and this stuff was excess to his requirements. The red crossover stitch was to match the Roy chainstitch signature on the inside front pocket 😁1 point

Worked on my car the other day. Changed the heater matrix which was blocked ,causing the reservoir to boil coolant and spray it out via the cap/valve. Also caused the heating to stop working properly. Dealerships charges £1000+ for this work and remove the whole dashboard, but the internet was convinced you could just removed the glove box housing and do it yourself. So I did. For about £90. Complete fiddle! Really awkward. Got it done eventually and everything works. It was freezing though. Zero Degrees Celsius! And my knees hurt. I’m pretty sure I’ve stretched the knees on my WOMJ’s excessively. Test drive in the hills to check for leaks. Never again 😄 Also cut up a tree that came down in Storm Éowyn1 point

I haven’t taken photos of pants, because I’m currently wearing 1/2 of them. I also haven’t taken photos of tees (2x), a whole big slew of socks, nor a variety of smaller things (shades, watch, mugs, gloves, kerchief, ???). With those exceptions out of the way, finally: jackets & coats. Shown first are the Type 961 Baste Pocket Jacket, in red ochre cotton velvet; the Type WS922 Welsh Flannel Curve Front Jacket (Thanks Austin!); the Type 425 Double Cuff Flat Jacket, in some sort of very soft (felted?) wool. Last but not least are the Tenth Anniversary Edition Type 900 and the standard Type 902.1 point
