Little medley of new TCB releases from the summer. Number 2 jeans are very easy to wear at your regular waist size. Surprisingly a more understated and modern fit than other TCB models. Really pleased with them. EDIT: I wear the same size in all TCB models (34, my actual waist size) except for 50s which I size up to a 36 for additional room in the seat. These are a perfect fit for me, not oversized or tight at all.8 points

Gave the WWII jeans another wash over the weekend, starting to get some decent contrast. I really like the grey hue that this denim has, and it feels like it's not washing out as quickly as some other OA denims have in the past. This is probably my favorite cut that they've made so far, so if there's ever another run of 03s I'm in.6 points

Was getting really tired of the cotter pins pulling through on my jeans + jacket (lost one fancy button and had at least a couple very close calls)—and, besides, it only seemed like a matter of time before the one on the jeans started poking holes in my tucked shirts—so I bought a bag of 1/2” brass key rings to use in stead They seem to work well and they’re not too eye grabbing when the jacket’s open, would def. recommend for one and all2 points

I don't know if Australian brand Man-tle is on anyone's radar, but they recently posted a fascinating video to instagram showing how Buaisou dye their shirts: https://www.instagram.com/mantle_official/reel/C9zFwsWP6OL/?hl=en As an aside, I discovered Man-tle via Blackbird Spyplane, which I discovered, in turn, through a recommendation on here somewhere. I've got a jacket, a couple of shirts and several hats from them now, which I really enjoy.2 points

My pair arrived today. I have not had a chance to try them on or look at them in detail yet. I'm excited to see how they fit and develop even if I'm not fully committed to everyday wear at this point in time I'm wearing the jacket though and it's nice. It's really lightweight and I wished that it had arrived earlier in summer. The stitching is and the fabric are really cool even at a cursory glance. Even unworn, I can tell that these will have a lot of vertical falling texture when faded.2 points

A rather old pair of Hawaii in a good size. I think the seller has confused the model number but still https://www.fromjapan.co.jp/japan/en/special/order/confirm/https%3A%2F%2Fitem.fril.jp%2Fb46fca06d84e6280f3b318fdff98702b/19_1/1 point

Sorry to break it to you but Warehouse has the biggest denim production issues out any brand I'm familiar with in Japan. Their allocations for dealers is tiny, as you can probably see most stores have little to nothing in stock. When do they 1001xx again they also unfortunately won't be making the longer inseam version, only the regular (shorter) inseam version. With that said.. we have two new Flat Head jeans dropping in 10 days which are very nice, one of which we had a hand in the designing of the fit. I know you have a soft spot for Flat Head, and I feel that after some years off, their new jeans are very good (again).1 point

Thanks Duke. Gonna have to be a pass from me after all—seems right up my alley, but I convinced myself I really don’t need any more belts right now. I’m sure you’ll have no trouble finding them all good homes1 point

Vintage deadstock Frye boots. Seller said they were a sample on display in a flagship store. They smell like an old motorcycle jacket. Super Solid. Reminds me a little of the Clinch cowboy boots by Brass Show Co. A little sturdier and more structured with thicker soles and no toe embellishment. Tea core leather too. Should last forever.1 point

1 ½” wide - 10oz weight (4mm) thickness Skirting is a very firm leather - that doesn’t mean ‘hard’ per se, but it won’t feel as supple as harness leather for example. It’s a difficult leather to cut, and certainly not one I’d want to decorate with studs. I do like the finish and grain - very old school.1 point

I was going to post these in the TCB thread, but then I remembered this is where I first heard about MOTO. The shoes and braces are from MOTO, and the jeans are Motor New Vintage "old baggy" denim. Many of you know it's based on '90s denim. I had a couple pair of CK jeans in '92. We would get them two sizes up and cinch them with a belt. These are so great, for me. They take me back, and the plain toe Cordovans remind me of the Timberlands we wore back then. Good times as an undergraduate. Anywho, here are the pants with my growing MOTO collection.1 point

Here are a few pics of the 1943 jeans (size 34), received yesterday. As I mentioned to b_F, I feel pretty young and trim for an old dude, but look old and fat -- and, of course, the camera doesn't lie. I also have the jeans hiked up a bit, as I just put them on for the photo. I suspect they'll come in a little with a wash and I hope to come in a little too (i.e., lose a few pounds).1 point

In case this is helpful to anyone else who needs long sleeves, I asked Ryo about the No. 2 blouse sleeve sizing because the size charts made the sleeves seem significantly shorter than other TCB models. He replied that the sleeves indeed measure 3 cm shorter than his 20s jacket in the same size, but that the sleeve essentially hits at the same place because of the shoulder and armhole construction. As for the jeans, I've actually come around to them and expect to grab a pair (probably with belt loops for function's sake) before orders close this week unless I have a last minute change of heart. I have no illusions of winning the competition and they probably won't truly be worn everyday because they are so niche, so the 18 month cycle helps. Hard to turn down curiosity for the details of this pair and I get the feeling that they will fit me pretty well. (Seeing the updated fit from TCB Instagram in a true-to-size pair helped too). More on the fence with regards to the jacket since I just got a Type 2 and don't necessarily need it, but it might help tie the jeans more into my existing wardrobe1 point

Cross-posting from the M-series thread to keep things moving in here… M41058 old and new (3ish years / 1–2 months) The color on the old ones is truest in the angled photos (& the one w/ the dogs) where they appear bluer. These are my favorite jeans, in a lot of ways, and I’m really glad to have found a second pair. The old ones are tagged W33 and were hemmed to 35.5” when raw by S&S Oakland. They didn’t shrink as much as I expected, and they ended up around 1.5” longer than ideal, so I’ve always worn them with a cuff. The new ones are tagged W35 and had already been washed & hemmed to just about my perfect length when I got them, so they’ve been getting worn w/ a nice clean break. The denim has held up incredibly well—but the constructional stitching has been the opposite, so I’ve had to go over pretty much every seam, at this point. The only other repair I’ve had to do is to there pocket bag where I carry my keys. Overall, even though I don’t think it’s the main thing that draws me to these pants, I’m really happy with how the denim itself has worn. The puckering, the color, and the little bit of vertical falling are all perfect, and it’s super comfortable right from the start.1 point
