Also not today but over the last week & weekend: Since the temperatures rose a bit in germany the citrus project on the balcony is growing along. Seen here are: 1 x trifoliate orange 1 x citrumelo (hybrid of trifoliate orange & grapefruit) lots of yuzus (the small ones are seed grown), the big one I got last winter at half its size right now 2 x volkamer lemons 1 ichang orange and maybe in the background a sanguinello blood orange Also visible an olive we got a few years ago bearing fruit nowadays The other pictures are from the weekend, foraging for berries and mushrooms in the black forest. Friends of ours moved there recently and we visited over the weekend. Since it's been crazy rainy and wet, but not really cold chanterelle mushrooms have been growing pretty early in the season. Usually they are ripe in august/september, rather than beginning of july.6 points

Received my 0105's today, direct from their online store and with their own hem, looks great. They emailed me after ordering to confirm the inseam length and also to send me specific measurements of the pair they were going to ship - which I really appreciated, it didn't change anything but they did note the waist size to be smaller than that on the size chart (this W32 pair being 82cm waist rather than the advertised 83.5cm). This probably falls in line with others' experiences but I'm always W34 in Warehouse but easily 32 in these, and it's great being able to size for the waist only - so simple! All in all a great process and having looked at the import slip on the package that's also great. Pretty pleased. I'll get round to fit pics at some point - gave them another wash today, did try on prior to that and was instantly happy with the fit and cut - easy to see why it's praised so highly.5 points

Not today but recent trip to Johannesburg... A few pics of the Anglo American (think gold, diamonds, precious metals, De Beers) buildings in Main Street, Johannesburg centre of the old CBD... now minor part last century corporate colonial splendour, major part modern run down inner city depravation. The Stampede or The Impala Fountain by Herman Wald, in bronze, stands out... "The Stampede was my first impression in this country, nature’s most graceful charge that competes with any man-made efforts, unconditionally acclaimed by child or adult, by amateur or connoisseur, unbound by time, fashion or ‘isms’." Fascinating country that gets more fascinating over time as stories unfold And the Jo'burg winter sky never disappoints...2 points

^ I think past-bF fills them out nicely.. current-bF is a sleeker model – I'd maybe hem them to past length, you could still do the higher cuff but retain the option of regular-jeans-with-a-break1 point

I have a blue pair. Quite a stiff, heavy fabric. Pocket bags are almost to thick for comfort IIRC. I'll have to dig them out asI haven't worn for ages.1 point

Awesome, that’s helpful to know. Sounds like it’s safe to hem after a wash or two. Way trickier to get right when you like a tiny cuff or quarter break + no cuff!1 point

Spent the second half of this week dyeing baby clothes for a new niece. They’re all cotton. I don’t often dye with cellulose fibers because it’s such an extra hassle—but the flip side of this is that, when I do, I tend to throw as much in there as I can Had a cotton bandana laying around for who knows how long (I think it shipped w/ something or other from the Trestle Shop)…now it’s pink Tannic acid -> alum + lots of soda ash -> ground cochineal1 point

Jungmaven makes some decent ones, but the sizing isn't always super consistent, especially in the lengths. I've been enjoying the Buzz Rickson BR78960 149, it's loopwheel, but feels much lighter than a Warehouse T, even a bit lighter than Whitesville.1 point

Hey I'm back so soon that I can see another one of my posts on the same page of the thread. I made a video where I go over every single Acronym Nike release and cover my personal collection along the way. I also touch on the new MSCHF collaboration. I have every Lunar Force 1 because I love that shoe so much, there's also a tier list near the end for my definitive ranking of every pair. I think I get mildly controversial with some of my opinions!1 point
