^thank you so much for this @JDelage, I'd love to visit the Pacific NW, looking forward to seeing a lot more of the States all over. To answer various people's kind questions, all my UK suppliers are going strong and happy to keep working with me so at least initially production will remain unchanged and I'll be back regularly to keep on top of things. I am looking forward to seeing what new opportunities arise, however, so I hope I’ll be in the nice position of only making positive changes, as and when I can. In the meantime, I had another nice email in response to the most recent newsletter that went out, about Butterfly shirts and the new Weaver's Stock version of this design. The question was: "what’s the difference between a true cuff and a false cuff? I’ve heard that term elsewhere, but am not sure what it means. Here's my response, which might be of interest here too? Not sure if this is what other people mean by a false cuff, but I mean a cuff that is actually just a facing laid on top of the end of the sleeve panels. It’s what’s on all the Tender shirts you’ve had: A classic cuff, however, is added onto the end of the sleeve panels, and it’s this that I’ve done for the first time with the new Weaver’s Stock shirts: The true cuff just feels a bit more formal and elegant, while the false cuff is more workwear-inspired and a lot more idiosyncratic. I especially like how the fabric direction of the cuff (warp side-to-side) pulls against the sleeve (warp up and down), when the garment is dyed or washed.3 points

I recently picked up a pair of 6423F in snuff suede direct from Alden (as they did the E fitting which was a must for me). I will say I have no experience with the LMS version, but one of my main attractions to the LHS was the van last and the rounded shape of the toe, the raised moc stitching plays a big part in that and gives the toe it's distinctive structure, and I like the effect. I felt, from photos that the LMS toe looked that bit pointier and more slender, which I wasn't keen on. Also, in the UK the only width available on the LMS was D, which given what I have now experienced the E to be like, would have been wayy too slim. I don't mind a leather sole, and so far, the sole on the 6423F has proven itself very comfortable. TLDR; I'm not an Alden purist I just really like the look of the snuff suede LHS (been a grail item since I got into menswear really), and I just see the difference as being an aesthetic one2 points

Continuing from above... I heard from @Double 0 Soul... he's doing well... albeit 'elbows deep' in house renovations and work which has left him zero time for online socialising... I think that means we can expect he'll have a few stories (and pics) to share when he returns...2 points

@CSL I had a sample pair of them and when I had them shipped to him for repairs that was last I saw them prolly six months ago. I was talking to Mike daily for months and then all of the sudden he just completely stoppped all communication. No replies to my calls or texts. so I don’t know what’s going on with him. A bummer but I’ll just stick with supporting Freewheelers now. Haha1 point

I would at least call my credit card and explain it to them, see what happens. I just looked at their store policy and they say they issue a chargeback against chargebacks, which I’ve never seen before, and gives me some sort of feeling about a retailer that feels the need to state that.1 point

He'd just made some very cool loomstate jeans last time I visited him. I got the impression you were getting a pair of those, Shredwin?1 point

@sgs yea that’s part of the wwii repro. They even went as far as to repro some of the qc issues of the war time era.1 point

@mlwdpHodism made a bunch of clothes for the film as well. Hardy is wearing the brander jacket throughout and the film and I think he made some of the jeans Butler is wearing1 point

Lots of info out there on the Internet @istewi and many opinions too. I don't know much about single/double stitching on cuffs/waistband as a dating tool but the jacket fits you and that's the most important thing imo.1 point

Tempo did make a few posts on here I saw, but I can’t seem to find the username. Didn’t they used to be in SF? Will they respond to emails? If so, they should offer to refund you with interest at this point, if they want to do the right thing, unless it was noted this was a years long wait on deposit. 2 years is usually longer than allowed for a credit dispute, but it could be worth a shot.1 point

I’m really jealous of those. Passed on them when they came out because I was tired of Warehouse’s tiny + flimsy pocket bags and didn’t want to commit to another pair, but I saw them in S&S a few months ago and was surprised to see full-length bags made from a nice medium weight bull denim…they were all out of my size, though, as was everyone else by then. Oh well—your pair’s looking fantastic @olmecasteve1 point

My 130 after a wash to follow @bartlebyyphonics. I must have had to re-stitch almost every stitch in the top block and back pockets but all good. Next to re-attach the one hanging belt loop.1 point
