Evisu is still loved!

I like how he says his focus is on quality, and that he hopes to make denim in the US and Japan. Since most of their denim comes from Japan, I reckon he means the finishing process. I also find it interesting that he plans to streamline the brand into two entities. One focused on fashion and the other work wear. I'm kinda excited.

Anticipate higher prices and perhaps more washes.

^^I agree. I'm thinking he's going to make the brand more approachable for the rest of the world outside of hardcore raw denim fanatics. Thats what MIJ Evisu is for. Its interesting that he's bring back Labour, but I suspect he's going to make it a Warehouse, RRL-ish part of the brand.

He can keep those washes, and I'll take my MIJ Evisu over that any day.

If I order a 2000 No.1 from the Jap Evisu web-shop through a proxy (hide-san) with standard white gulls, will these be handpainted or just printed with a machine? Anybody knows that?

You have the option of specifying handpainted gulls.

On a different note, whilst having a clearout of old stuff, I found all the pics of my 2001s from when I first started wearing them (when they had red gulls!). When I get a chance, I'll get some proper evo pics up...

yeah I saw that drop-down menu. so all the gulls are handpainted automatically?

and if I want the lenght untouched (inseam 94cm raw as stated in the measurement-chart) I have to choose "without increasing lenght", right?

if I have further questions I'll pm you and stop spamming this thread :D

I'm looking for some #1's right now in either the 2000 or 2001 and had some sizing questions:

I wear a 30 in my Samurai's and they stretched out to about a 31-31.5 at the waist and I was looking into the Evisu's. According to BIG the waist will shrink 2.5 inches (which seems like alot to me) on the #1's, but how much will they stretch back out? Back to tagged sized?

If so, should I just go with a 31 or size up to a 32 or even 33?

thanks

i read the interview morrison did, and maybe there will be improvements...but when i see ''stylecraft'', it makes me think back to the evis days...

One thing I liked was his understanding of the brand, particularly the nostalgic aspect of the MIJ stuff.
