I would doubt any of them are selvedge denim for a starters.

I don't really care about that though, I'm just trying to get a cheap pair of raw denim for my brother. I don't want to spend 300 for a pair of jeans he may only wear a couple of times.

^^ true they are not selvedge inseam is 34 on pairs of eu's i had before thats the normal leg length

Thanks, do they fade alright or am I better off getting something else?

Not sure what your question really is. LOT numbers are the different cuts of denim. The NO.1, NO.2, and so on are the different types of denim. So cuts and denim types can be mixed.

As for the patches it varies the two older ones you mention are only found in the older garments however thats not always the case.

Lastly the guls can come in 3 different types. One is screen print, two is hand painted and three is stitched. As always they vary depending on the buyers choice and stock at the time. Though finding stitched guls is fairly rare in Evisu japan items.

These deserve another showing, can't believe that no one has commented on these man...

All repped out, owe you some for these. You still wearing these? They're the kind of stuff that I don't think I could ever put to one side in favour of a newer model; proper all-time classics. They're like my 2001s, which I've worn today, as each wash brings out more nuances in the character of the denim.

Washed the Lazy S jeans in the week, and I'm loving the feel of the denim on those too, just keeps on getting softer and softer...not sure if they'll ever develop the character that the Japanese No.1 and 2 seem to get, but ask me about it in a few months time and I'll let ya know... :)

thanks for the reply paulo, sorry i didn't make my question clearer.

what i meant was are the ones in the auction no.1 special because they do look like the typical no.1 special patch and if they were released at the same time as the 2504 no.2 which had the fisherman patch.

the fisherman patch is definitely not used anymore, agreed that the stitched seagulls are quite rare, have only seen two examples before. will try take pics of a pair that's with a friend and share with everyone.

Thanks Crash. These have slowly become classics in their own right, even though it's based on the ultimate classic 501.

I love that these are so hard to fade, as well as the funky greenish hue, which disappears over time. I decided to drag them out of the closet to see what i can do with them. It's hard to decide!

Classics indeed, and quoted for truth! It's interesting to see how the whole repro thing now has models that, whilst based on classic jeans themselves, are now seen as classics in their own right.

I can't see how anyone could ever get bored of something like the No.1 denim (for example) and 'retire' it after a while as you know there's always going to be more to see and appreciate...
