interesting find at a place called Yucca at the edge of the French Concession, definitely recommend this spot to anybody looking for a good drink in a very interesting setting...The food next door at the Boxing Cat Brewery is great as well...

Heading into Beijing...

First night in town headed out to Sanlitun to get some food and a few drinks, ended up staying out a bit too late...the mist and the rain made for great shooting, haven't shot my 50mm in quite a while either, fun to get it out at night.

It was RAINY! How was it 102 with you Fab? Damn, I just know it was raining relentlessly.

Well, today I did stuff but there is no pictures due to the fact that I didn't want to take my camera out in the raine and ruin it and the place I went to didn't allow photography.

Had coffee as I woke up this morning.

And then you know, well... it was just rainy here today.

I was driving to the museum actually to see a photo exhibit, but I just didn't want to walk half a mile with my camera in the rain and they didn't alllow photos anyways so it was a lose lose situation.

On the way back though I did enjoy a vanilla chip ralphs italian ice!

I had my udon noodles for dinner, but my mom made some eggplant dish that I couldn't resist...

I also snacked on those thingie things... they are an Italian, god im a dumb american w/e I can't remember the names of the things as it is 11:50 and I am about to fall asleep.

Going to continue blowing up this thread with stuff from Beijing...did tourist stuff today to get it out of the way early, been wanting to come here forever, and had my first chance to experience the tourist extravaganza that is the Forbidden City, it is absolutely huge, and very fun to walk around today since it was rainy and not busy at all...

I live right next to Sanlitun Village at the moment, so I walked through there on my way to the subway station round noon...not the nicest day, rain here and there which kept most people indoors, but there will always be kids having fun playing in fountains, no matter where in the world you are...

watched these guys push that car from about 5 blocks down the road towards me, no sign of stopping any time soon either.

Took the train to Tian'anmen, everybody has seen the entrance with its portrait, but what i didn't realize is just how much China is looking back at you, there were a ton of cameras everywhere, more than i think i've ever seen in any public place...

I loved every moment of my time at the entrance to the square, watching chinese tourists from all over excited to be there, had to take a 10 minute detour to take photos with a few families which i admit i do enjoy from time to time to be nice, but it is inevitably going to get really old...haha.

finally reached the entrance to the forbidden city, had a great time walking around out front, i could definitely spend an entire day here doing nothing but watching the people interact with one another...its so much fun.

And finally ended up out the other side of the city, ready to climb the hill to the temple behind, and very excited for the view that was surely to be waiting up there...

And finished up the night with some amazing roast duck out at Houhai...back home on the east side of the city now, getting ready for a long day of work tomorrow, the fun must come to an end some time!

Got out of town for a couple of days this weekend to escape the crowds and catch a building south swell:

From a few days back, on my vacation in Europe. Only took WAYJDT pics on one day, in Brussels, Belgium.

Stayed at the Hotel New Galaxy on the north end of downtown. Not fancy, but I liked the view from the room

Walked most of the day. Stopped by Grand Place (which is has a lot of impressive architecture in one square)

Then walked to the Cinquantenaire

Walked past through that and hung out at a fountain by a park for a while

After a while we got bored and planned to walk around some more, but on our way back through the gate, we realized there was something called "the garden party" going on, and hung out there for a while

After that we started to head back to the hotel, and saw some comic art and art nouveau (which is all over on the sides of buildings in Brussels)

Walked around the city some more

Then got some beer and went back to the hotel.

I'm wearing LVC 47 501s that were at about 17 months at the time...
