HELP- spilled drink on new selvage denim. and broken button

i bought this pair of jeans the other day, wore them out for the first time and somebody managed to spill a glass of red bull into the lap of them. i grabbed some tissues and got most of it before it soaked in, then went and stuck them under the hand dryer. but now they stink of red bull. could somebody tell me the best way to clean them, if there is one? should I dry clean? or just air them out and wear them and hope the smell goes away?

I also snagged the button in my attempt to get them off and under the dryer as fast as possible, It was sort of hanging off so i prized the back off of it and removed it doing as little damage as possible. to reattach it im thinking of either sewing a patch over the hole, then using the spare back with the spikes on it, but im not sure if it will hold as the back of the button is a bit mangled. my other idea is to drill through the back of the button twice (making 4 holes, one every quarter of the way around) and stitching it back to the spot where it is. which of these seems the better option? or does anybody have any other ideas?
