Ooe-Yofukuten & Co.

jyoni fuck that poly-core shit man. don't go out like that. just repair the shits when they bust, and keep it movin'. if you get the parts you think you'll be hard on in #0 thread(the thickest possible) it'll last longer. this is yofukuten, so maybe they can think of in ingenious way to reinforce the seams with an indigo colored thread, so it'll give extra strength, plus it's invisible. a double-thick knee and denim-lined back pockets will add longevity too.

sell veg - click on the OOE website http://www.ooe-yofukuten.com/, choose Blog and scroll down to mid page. Both the swatch and wear pics for #44 are there.

nameness - Sorry, I wasn't clear. I need a 34, 35 when I eat well so I ordered a 37x36, figuring with frequent washing they will be at least 35, possibly 34. I'll post pre and post soak measurements when I get the jeans.

Leaning more towards that, salaami. The gauges are just too far off, and I can't get too excited about the prospect of glossy-ass core thread still shining bright on a pair of broken-in jeans.

lance man, I'm so jealous, I still haven't ordered. Sorry that wear pic went down. I linked it straight from gmail instead of rehosting properly.

no worries. we're the same size then but i ordered 35s. went back and forth with Ryo & Hiro on sizing, measured some existing jeans and sent them the info and that's where we ended up. figure shrink down to 33, stretch back out to 34-ish. i've ordered larger in the past with other brands but the legs always end up too big/baggy, even on slimmer cuts. i'm in the big hips (gut?) and skinnier legs category i guess.

anyway, confirmed my order a couple of days ago. used my upcoming birthday to splurge a little.

^ Can't think of a better way to spend your money! Shit, hope I didn't go too big. They were trying to talk me down too, comparing my Jomon size to their sizing. I have 3 pairs of Jomon, one raw which I haven't yet soaked. 45RPM sizes their denim 3 sizes larger, so their pre soak 34 is 37 raw. The other 2 are O/W 34 which will stretch to 35 pretty easily. Be interesting to see how the OOEs come out. Have they given you an estimated delivery? By the way, which denim and cut did you order?

I'd say you'll be fine lance, especially if, like me, you like to eat well and not feel cut in half.

I thought I was the only one to have gone back and forth with Ryu and Hiro over sizing. I eventually settled on a W35 having bought various jeans in the past that had wound up too big. I probably should've gone for W36 as I need a 34" waist after shrinking.

Right now I'm thinking my Ooes will have to go on Supermarket as there's no way that the waist is comfortable.I just didn't allow for the 'curry factor'.

lance - Sizing is the number one question, especially when buying from a new (to you) brand. You know the deal, all this stuff is pretty subjective & really variable.... body type, how you like to wear 'em, etc. just for a little info, this is me in a tagged 34 (measured 35 pre-wash, 33 post, 34-ish now) Samurai 0500:

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/150/102109.jpg (linking vs. posting to save some space)

I originally went tagged with 35s but they just didn't fit right in the upper block, even after hot washes.

No delivery estimate, they just mentioned they'd starting working on them in early November.

I ordered the following. Like I said, splurging a bit due to turning a round number this year...

#1601 - loose weave indigo for hot ass days.

#4302 - love the color. sorry for jocking, Jaco!

#5002 - gray left hand twill. wanted a good pair of grays for occasional wear, not really expecting fading.

I generally stick to one pair until they die, so the 4302 will probably be my next daily pair after the Sams.

slowdownarthur - Dude, i was like taking pics of myself and sending them over to Ryo & Hiro re: fit. They were extremely patient & helpful. Sorry to hear you may not hold onto yours. I'm sure you know there are plenty of ways to control shrinkage even if you sized down too much. I've done plenty of cold hand washes in the tub when it's happened to me...

Mine are a S2903XX, the WWll model. And, like lance, I went for hickory stripe pockets.

Yes, too late to change. I underestimated how much they would shrink... great jeans though...

I think the 44 denim is a really nice choice. Almost went for it myself.

nameness- thats a comfort to know you went to those lengths. I thought I must be driving them mad sending various measurements back and forth...Yes, I was blase after the first soak and stuck them in the wash....hmmm...

nameness - I'm not familiar with the other denim but the 4302 should be the perfect pair of jeans.

slowdownarthur - that's a shame - selling them on the supermarkert will be no problem. Then order another pair of OOEs in the right size; great plan.

jyoni - What's the holdup - too many decisions?:) Take your time, get it right. I'm using all cotton thread. Not that hard on jeans and it's fun to fix em anyway.

Yeah, too many decisions. Plus my lady just chipped a tooth while at our cabin. Restorative costs are no joke. Right now we don't want to use anything but cash money for all our spending/expenses, so as tempting as it is to just rack it up....gonna wait.
