Grats from me, too of course! All the best for you two..

Has your gf a fashion affinity, too? Sounds like you did a lot of shopping - any actual purchases?

I am currently stuck between visiting Paris or London.. You would recommend Paris, then? Kinda near to my university (2hrs train)... But on the other hand - Layers London should be amazing!

dont forget that london has the Library as well, but still can not compete with paris stores.

The cultures are so different it's hard to say really? London for parties, Paris for food and art?

+1, depends what's the reason of traveling , shopping or?

also, I heard that EM just received a truck load of PH this afternoon. Probably the largest buy this AW10.

So Chin, run down please. ;)

I enjoyed London but if I was given a choice to come back I would have to say Paris... purely because of the food and culture. We're big eaters and we were so frustrated trying to locate good food without going to a fine dining restaurant. The only memorable food in London for me was L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon... and that's french :o

I guess for me London felt kinda the same but just bigger and with cooler buildings than Sydney.. when I travel I would like to get lost in the city and try as much 'local' food as possible.... we're not big on night life/parties either so yeh...

Layers' space looks HUGE. It's located in Soho right in front of Yohji's... Can't wait till that opens.

As for actual purchases - my gf copped much more jawnz than I did... She got some MA+ derbies, Ann D sneaks and a couple of RO/MMM stuff. I bought Yohji pants, a knit by Lost&Found and a pair of Ann D mandals (not the ones with the ankle straps). The pants by Yohji pretty much wiped out my shopping budget :(

L'Eclaireur on rue Herold is probably the best store on the planet. I can spend all day there... which we kinda did haha.

where's the best place for chinese / asian fried noodles? Casual eating, noodle bar style.

Not sure about fried noodles in particular but my fave asian casual eating places are Pacific BBQ on Lonsdale St, Dessert House in the arcade in Chinatown, and Rose Garden on Elizabeth. I think Rose Garden would be your best bet for fried noodles though. Unless you're looking for an actual noodle bar that specialises in noodles, then I don't have a clue haha :D

yeah Rose Garden is good for noodles, don't really rate Dessert House all that much. haven't tried Pacific BBQ's noodles but their roast duck is the best I've had in melbourne.

had some particularly sucky char kway teow in box hill south today, unfortunately I don't have the time to drive into box hill town centre for lunch on most of the days I'm working here...

Come to think of it, I havn't been to dessert house for like a year I think lol. I just remember them having large portions and decent stir fried stuff. I pretty much always get the same thing and Pacific BBQ, char siu and soy sauce chicken with rice. Always need the ginger/spring onion sauce. I really liked the garlic roast chicken at Rose garden, char siu isn't as good as Pacific and last time the drenched my rice with the stock/sauce so I could only eat just over half of it coz it was too salty :(.

When I was younger, I always went to Grand Taipai bakery in Box Hill. Really liked their sticky rice with fried stick in the middle. They also make great taro cakes and chestnut cakes, if you're after something kinda different for a birthday cake.

Already in contact with him... Seems like it would fit, still awaiting measurements though.

He mentioned that the technique might be similar to the 'pulled-yarn' knits of recent collections. What exactly is that approach, if you dont mind me asking?

uhm, sorry, i am not sure to be honest, as i am still unfamiliar with luca's work, however, matt will be happy to elaborate I guess, his a luc fan, or you can ask raymondchiu / humancrack.

the last time i spoke to stephen in regard of elena dawson, is that the delivery will occur after paris fashion week, they needed certain materials and fabrics for EM's orders, that's why it's being pushed, as EM are the only store that ordered her menswear, so rejoice to some of us, i guess, as menswear aw10 has been a drought.
