state your beer, drinkers

yea kind of sick and trying to get over a cold. drinking the much hyped younger right now, and it can either be the age or still being sick but it literally taste like a pale ale, no hop bite and the alcohol taste is unnoticeable. expo is next on tap.

I love IIIPA nights. well that is when I can enjoy the beer.

Met up with youkinorn last night at Blind Tiger and had a few beers. They have a great selection, tons of stuff left over from the Stone event that was this past Wednesday. Drank a Bourgoene des Flanders, Stone Ruination with simcoe hops, and a Sculpin.. good stuff, snapped a few pics but I'll upload them later.

Really wasn't impressed with the Stone Ruination or their regular IPA.

If you get Ruination on tap it's fantastic... To be honest, my favorite stone was their 10th anniversary but since you can't get that anymore.. Oaked Arrogant Bastard is just about heaven.

Soonami just asked me about the shipping deadline for the swap. I know thomas_collins and I are both out of town until the end of this week so because of that I'd like to say 4/1. That would give both us about half a week to get the beer and ship it.

Ok.. so it seems everybody has no qualms with the size of the BIF. How does this sound as a finalization of rules:

1. Minimum ~100oz of beer.

2. At least 1 bottle must be barrel/wood/oak aged.

3. 50% of the other bottles must be local to where you live.

4. The other 50% of bottles should be something you think your target will enjoy (be creative :D )

If these few rules are good with everybody, I'll collect contact info from everybody and hand out targets.

was this the final say?

Yeah ren that was the final say.. 100 oz, 1 bottle must be barrel/wood/oak aged, 50% must be local, 50% something the person will like..

As far as a price target, that's fine. I'm trying to estimate how much would be a fair amount.. 6 12oz beers if I'm buying singles usually run me $2.50-$3.50/bottle, and I expect a bomber of a barrel/wood aged beer to run between $10-15? That's range of $25-36 total.. so I'd say $30.

Is $30 good for other people? I don't know how much beer costs in some places so if $30 is off base let me know.

I'm actually glad this came up since I'm packing a box now. I think mine will be much more than $30. But I can scale back a bit to keep thinks more in line with the general consensus. This however might just be a consequence of higher beer prices in Philly though

My package will be shipped tomorrow. The box will be going to the hometown of an actor, who was nominated for an Academy Award by portraying a real person in recent a movie, based on a non-fiction book of the same name.

Nice tasting Brian, PVW Eclipse, Churchill's Finest, CR, Isabelle... epic stuff :D

Isabelle is #1 on my list of wants..

youkinorn and I are headed to Brooklyn tonight for a tasting, should be a great time -- batch 1 Hunaphu, 09 Gratitude, batch 1 Brute, among quite a few others. Will have a photo dump when I get back to Ithaca of the tasting, some random beers from the week, and some purchases.

Also I feel out of the loop since I've been in the city but I'll be more on top of the swap once I'm back home.
