so warehouse wants to feature us the the 3rd Edition of the Lightning Magazine Denim Issue!! This is a huge honor and something that is unheard of at free of charge to us. Basically they want to make a story of this and get a scope of:

*what kind of people are participating (anyone famous or with a crazy job or something),

*the time frame,

*the rules,

*if we have a sponsor (i thought it was warehouse but maybe we should try to find someone?)

so, anyone famous, or with a crazy job or something... pm me or reply in the thread. if youd like to keep the info off of sufu there is an email account that ill have up soon that you can send info to.

Initial thoughts on the jeans:

The color of these remind me a bit of sc1947s, while the denim is slightly more irregular. But I wouldn't call them slubby. Not much crocking from what I can tell. Overall, they are very comfortable to wear and a nice follow-up to 6 months of nothing but pbj's.

I love that my buttons have already started to rust! The coin pocket selvedge is a nice detail and I think uncommon for 66' repros, no?

As for shrinkage, I lost patient with just soaking and threw them into the wash/dryer. Not too denim-nerdy, but what the hell, they needed to be shrunk down! Lastly, I was surprised that the length seemed a little too long, as I'm 6'2". But I have no problem with a little cuffing.

Great jeans. Great price. I'm very excited to see everyone's evolutions.

from gordon:

I'm going to make a section on our website dedicated to the contest so while i'm waiting for the sufu e-mail account to get setup, lets see if we can have everyone send me whatever pics they want posted up along with any info they may want so I can get started on that. they can give me their locale (state, country, etc..). they can send to the [email protected] or send them trhough the website address

this way we have a dedicated site to just photo's and updates and such

thanks

Gordon

My deductive reasoning has kicked in and therefore I am happy to announce that not only are these jeans a great fit for humans but based on the fact that they fit Cheep so well we can expect them to look really good on a horse. I believe we have definately reached a new level with this collab x contest.

[just gagging]

Hey, cheep, you want to see if Gordon is interested in adding this map thing to the website he's working on? It's kinda lost here and might be a little better as a sidebar for a WordPress-esque type webpage.

at least they will fit a horses ass(no cordo)

also, maybe we should just have everyone list thier job... as crazy or mudane as they come... because this contest should shed light on not only those with interesting occupations, but show that some interesting people have pretty boring jobs too. if you want, either pm me, email gordon, or email me @ [email protected]

#198 delivered. I've finished taking pre-wash measurments and snapping pics, and now the jeans are in the wash. They're huge on me, but with a 40 minute warm/warm cycle followed by a spin in the dryer, they should hit their tagged size and be perfect.

I'm kinda disappointed though. These had loose threads everywhere, and BiG didn't send the denim that got cut off the legs during hemming, which they've always done for me in the past. Hopefully these don't have serious durability issues for me, but I'd feel better if I had extra denim for patching.

Weird, I got my trimmings, even though it was super tiny and probably not enough to patch with!

Also very surprised with everyone who had loose threads, I'm very impressed with the construction on mine.

i guess anything out of the ordinary... i want to really get a good idea of what types of people are participating n this... are we all office slaves? musicians and artists? porn stars? etc...

i'm a professional ganja connoisseur/smoker

and student

cheep by the time this contest is done, chances are i can proudly say ive inhaled at least a pound in those jeans

maybe mine will turn green (more likely brown from resin) like takashi's turned brown from the cig smoke
