seriously man. go vege. they'll think your a warmhearted earth loving man of conciousness. only reason why i gave up the pork chops.

My (hippy) dad has been vegetarian for 30+ years... his logic revolves around the fact that he loves animals and can't imagine killing them for food... I can't directly identify myself as a vegetarian as that would make it difficult to take the girls out to restaurants with edible food ;), but my vegetarian hippy food childhood is an interesting topic to throw into a dinner conversation... If I put it in the way that I love animals and hate to hurt them, it's a nice way to add the sensitive aura without going overboard with that shit. In my experience I've even been able to do this while chomping on a rare steak and it still worked.

Sidenote, pescatarians can survive pretty well in Asia, but true vegans can forget about eating anywhere but genuine vegan restaurants and the random pickings one would expect anywhere in the world. Asians are still mostly unfamiliar with the concept of vegetarianism and don't think of the different meat and fish-derived seasonings and stocks they use.

I love meat though... Who serves the best wagyu in Tokyo? Ate the sukiyaki at Imahan in Takashimaya and at the Ningyo-cho one, any places where I can have a killer wagyu steak?

you say as if asians are behind, but there isnt one place which is truely vege friendly.

pretty shit i cant eat sashimi, ramen etc.

actually i was vegan for a while. and that shit just sucks. cant eat a thing.

you can eat alotta junk food, somen, zaru soba/udon etc, basic miso soup, tofu, uuuhh there's alot of vegetable dishes, or you could just be man and survive on alchohol exclusively.

kappa maki, oshinko maki, kon kon san?

seriously in picadilly/soho in london, kind of the japanese central area (there is other residential ones, but this is where most jap retail and business's are), theres a sushi-ya called yoshino, its actually pretty good aparently..

anyways

i always get the special gaijin versions.. this konkon san with like sesame seeds and carot? thats pretty badass, but my favourite is yasai tempra maki.. i guess its completely un-japanese, but its stil tastey as fuck. i wanna get that shit in jp. maybe i can ask for requests but taisho will be pissed.

depends where you go. if you go to a sushi place where many gaijin frequent then they'll be more then obliged.

fuck that shit. there must be alot of good, fair priced places right? in uk sushi is a rip off, 6pieces kapa maki is like $7, $8 for 2 pieces maguro sushi, toro sushi is $10 for 2 piece.

this is taken from a very averagely priced place, not high end dining, just a respectable, nice restaurant.

you know what i noticed that is pretty funny? when i meet alot of gaijin friends who don't live in japan, i notice that they dress totally different from what they would wear in they're native country regardless of the seasons (this isn't directed to any gaijin in particular).

i kind of feel like regardless of what gaijin wear (most) people don't really care (unless they're at a particular event/party). then again it depends where you hang out...

thomas or other gaijin not living in japan, do you select a specific look/wardrobe before you go to jp? if so, how do you do it and why?

yeah i do;

it consists of key pieces from my fave collections + stuff i made.

reason; so i look like a bad asss fashion designer, when in reality, back on home turf, i just talk about being one to people on the internetz.

this is some real talk right here!^

you gotta look your best, cause to us all foreigners look the same.

this is the double edged sword that is tokyo. people never get called out for wearing something totally ridiculous/ugly while the "cool kids" refuse to compliment you even though they think your shit is stellar.

i compliment girls all the time even if their shit sucks though

honolulu is probably in the day around 75-80 degrees. at night it's around 72 on the low side.

i noticed that. i don't know if you got hashi-ashi or daikon-ashi, but you got the deedee off the market didn't you? how do you like them? you gotta got with joeys or van winks.

i got a coupon for 20% at a particular site that now has black joeys and black van winks if you want it...

The thing is I didn't recall which pair I tried on at loveless.

I bought the dee dees but i know joeys are more tapered and dee dees are slightly more straight. Are they similar to acne max (cut)?

The seller's hem measurement seemed to indicate the jeans are hella tapered but

I dunno. Are dee dees gay?

The jeans haven't arrived yet, FYI.

deedees are cool, but they just seem to big for me. i don't know what kind of physique you've got cause you're too pussy to post a fit, but you're like 6feet +, right? should be okay. can't tuck with them as easy though.

i'd say that joeys are similar to acne crash.

well I think I've decided.

At least narrowed it down, to either Italian or Chinese food, but y'know, something really nice!

So, any recommendations of some upscale (but not TOO upscale) places to eat? Probably somewhere like Shibuya or Harajyuku, but I guess elsewhere could be cool.

And as far as the slow-dancing goes, I think I'm just gonna take her to a park and use some little iPod speakers. Suave I know.

In the middle of December?

Girl standing outside for any period of time in 30 degree weather =/= lay.
