I have this in navy, it's a nice jacket.

Much prefer the field parka cut/style to that new storm parka.

The fabric itself is really good at keeping rain out for something made from 95% cotton. and it deals with medium rain showers well, there's also really well thought out reinforcement stitching in various areas which you can't see in the pictures and the hood is cut really well (have owned a fair few parka's with terrible hoods)

That being said, with use the fabric does have a tendency to become a little hairy/rough where there's only one layer due to the metal content. I don't find it a problem at all as it's outerwear and hardly notice it but I can see why shorts and this material are a bad idea.

Jonathan and Olivia has them on sale. The have had them for a couple months but still have a lot in stock so I am guessing that they haven't sold well. I'd just be wearing them with jeans.
