christmas eve dinner at home with the extended family:

mum whipped up an impressively creative meal

pumpkin gelatin with shellfish

momotomato (new and improved! stuffed with raw salmon salsa)

rice balls stuffed with crab meat and roe

suckling pig (this was the best I've ever had. mum ordered the suckling pig from the roast shop, and improved on it with some secret technique so that the skin is uberkrispy)

turkey. the most boring of the dishes, but a festive must-have. nevertheless the whole family voted in favour of the suckling pig replacing the turkey in future christmases.

this was also the first time we had three log cakes for christmas eve dinner. tsk. lack of coordination/communication between the family. all three were delightfully tasty though.
