would you get one or RMNZ and Goodwear are a lot better in quality?

It's been a while I'm thinking about geting an A-2 and now it's time and I'm still wondering what brand to go for.

thanks dave i think theyre 1 size too big though.. i ordered a 38 but they sent me a 40.

theyre not waay too big theyll be good for winter in canada..

i can wear maybe 2 shirts inside and this with a 40

and maybe just a shirt and this with a 38

what do you say?

I find their sizing a little awkward sometimes. I have a black ma-1 in 40 which is a great although a little roomy fit, a black l-2 which is 38 long that fits good & I have a brand new green ma-1 in 38 which I am gonna have to get rid of because its just a tiny bit too small. But I also have a blue n3-a in 40 which could have done with being a 42 like my a-2.

Personally, i think a little extra room is better than too small...

thanks buddy i wear a size 42 on br A2 but i could go away with a 40

and i wear a size 40 on real mccoy A2 which is a bit on the " just right" tightness fit

這件全新的馬皮A-2夾克是好友去年經歷一番省吃儉用購得的

因為對他來說很珍貴

所以剛入手之後根本捨不得穿

當時他很興奮的仔細在整件皮衣上 上了厚厚的一層貂油

而且深怕不夠,隔了不到一週又再上一次貂油

接著就用防塵袋將皮衣套住後好好的收藏了起來

經過一年的時間朋友終於捨得拿出來穿了

接下來看到的就是以下的景象

說實話我看到實際皮衣的狀況整個嚇到傻眼

從沒見過一件皮衣可以發霉成這種模樣

再看仔細一點

真的是體無完膚

每一個細部都已經蓋上一層霉斑

更近一點看發現霉斑已經是多層的覆蓋

而並非輕微的現象

為了解決這樣的問題只好再次拿出除霉三寶

毛刷

乾布

水蠟

首先第一個步驟就是先用毛刷把整件皮衣

用心仔細的刷過一次

在確實刷過整件皮衣之後

以乾布沾上水蠟,來回的將皮革上的霉斑擦除

上圖中可以見到水蠟對霉般的清除效果

幸好這件皮衣的發霉並沒有讓黴菌深層的深入皮革內層

否則可能沒有這麼簡單

先來看一下清除了一半之後的差異性

左邊是已經清除完成的,比對右邊實在有很大的差異

仔細近看可以更清楚看出差別

真的很大

最後整件處理完成的狀況

其實要將霉斑清除並非簡單的過程

光是用水蠟擦拭的過程就經歷了三、四次的工序

再仔細近看細部的改善狀況

霉斑已經徹底的清潔乾淨了

希望這件皮衣的主人可以記取這次的教訓

往後好好愛惜它

This is one of the best threads I have read in ages.

It made me go up into my loft and get down my A2 in Steerhide, that I had made up by Aero a couple of years ago. I cannot imagine what I must have been thinking leaving it up there unworn!!

I have been wearing it again almost everyday for the last couple of weeks, and the wear on it is beggining to show already, which I like.

When it has some more significant 'wear' I shall try to post some pics.

Well I'm pumped, I just pulled the trigger on a US Authentics horsehide A2 in russet. I can't wait for it to show up!

My jacket showed up today and I like it a lot. However, is it supposed to fit a little tight in the upper arm area? It's great in the body, but the sleeves kind of restrict my movement a bit when I reach up really far. I don't know if this is just a leather jacket thing or what, I haven't had one before.

From what I've heard, they're a good choice for excellent quality and price, particularly in comparison to companies like Eastman or Buzz Rickson.

Vintage style A-2's, from my understanding, are pretty fitted.

thats how mine fits too i think i have a thick chest area and big upper arms but theyll be good after a couple of months of wearing

Alright, to summarize, it's a US Authentics A-2 in russet horsehide. The leather has some really neat grain going on. Sorry, I didn't get a zipper pic. Crappy pics, but the best I can do for now..
