I saw on CNN the other day that in some polls that were taken already with Rudy vs. Hilary and Rudy vs. Barack, Rudy won both polls by at least 10%. I thought that this was quite interesting. I wish I had a link to verify this....

let em have another republican in office for the next 8 years cuz its going to take that long at least to get out of IRAK.....leave em with the problem is what i say

Fuck Hillary. Fuck anyone who's a giant chum of Tipper Gore and believes that multimedia is the cause of America's great maligns. The woman still holds the belief that videogames turn children into psychopathic nutters, which as someone who grew up on a healthy diet of Doom, Carmageddon and Grand Theft Auto, I can safely say is a crock of shit.

as much as i feel like a bit of an old conservative douchebag saying this, i'm starting to think that maybe they're not so far off base. would we be teaching grade sixes about pregnancy because they're fucking at such a young age if not for the likes of britney/paris/christina/etc? shit impacts for sure. that being said, i do enjoy murdering monks in the grand theft auto games....

Its hilarious when people will base their vote on some trivial pet cause of theirs - in this case, censorship of video games. Not that I support this censorship, but shit, out of the millions of more important issues, this is way down on the list.

One of the reasons why this nation is such shit right now is because reactionary fundies went out and voted for people solely on their positions on shit like abortion and gay marriage without taking the whole person into consideration.

The number one biggest problem in America - bigger than health care, immigration, Iraq, the housing crisis, or any of those Christian social issues - is lobbyists in Washington and campaign finance. If we dont fix this, NOTHING else matters - the foundation of our government is compromised.

Fuck, the American voter is stupid as fuck.

Speaking of pet issues, I'd like to see more candidates let us know what they're planning on doing with Guantanamo.

Barack is prettier.

i dont even care what the source of these is since i obviously cant take part in the american elections anyways, but i always enjoy a good bit of political drama and this sure is. first the gold standard and now this, ron paul is a great source of entertainment.

Race

"A Special Issue on Racial Terrorism" analyzes the Los Angeles riots of 1992: "Order was only restored in L.A. when it came time for the blacks to pick up their welfare checks three days after rioting began. ... What if the checks had never arrived? No doubt the blacks would have fully privatized the welfare state through continued looting. But they were paid off and the violence subsided."

The November 1990 issue of the Political Report had kind words for David Duke.

http://www.tnr.com/downloads/November1990.pdf

This newsletter describes Martin Luther King Jr. as "a world-class adulterer" who "seduced underage girls and boys" and "replaced the evil of forced segregation with the evil of forced integration."

http://www.tnr.com/downloads/december1990.pdf

The January 1991 edition of the Political Report refers to King as a "world-class philanderer who beat up his paramours" and a "flagrant plagiarist with a phony doctorate."

http://www.tnr.com/downloads/January91.pdf

A February 1991 newsletter attacks "The X-Rated Martin Luther King."

http://www.tnr.com/downloads/February1991.pdf

An October 1990 edition of the Political Report ridicules black activists, led by Al Sharpton, for demonstrating at the Statue of Liberty in favor of renaming New York City after Martin Luther King. The newsletter suggests that "Welfaria," "Zooville," "Rapetown," "Dirtburg," and "Lazyopolis" would be better alternatives--and says, "Next time, hold that demonstration at a food stamp bureau or a crack house."

Gays

In the course of defending homophobic comments by Andy Rooney of CBS, a 1990 newsletter notes that a reporter for a gay magazine "certainly had an axe to grind, and that's not easy with a limp wrist."

http://www.tnr.com/downloads/March1990.pdf

The June 1990 issue of the Political Report says: "I miss the closet. Homosexuals, not to speak of the rest of society, were far better off when social pressure forced them to hide their activities."

http://www.tnr.com/downloads/June1990.pdf

From the August 1990 issue of the Political Report: "Bring Back the Closet!"

http://www.tnr.com/downloads/August1990.pdf

A January 1994 edition of the Survival Report states that "gays in San Francisco do not obey the dictates of good sense," adding: "[T]hese men don't really see a reason to live past their fifties. They are not married, they have no children, and their lives are centered on new sexual partners." Also, "they enjoy the attention and pity that comes with being sick."

Survivalism and Militias

The November 1994 issue of the Survival Report celebrates anti-government militias.

http://www.tnr.com/downloads/November1994.pdf

The January 1995 issue of the Survival Report--released just three months before the Oklahoma City bombing--cites an anti-government militia's advice to other militias, including, "Don't fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here."

http://www.tnr.com/downloads/January1995.pdf

The October 1992 issue of the Political Report paraphrases an "ex-cop" who offers this strategy for protecting against "urban youth": "If you have to use a gun on a youth, you should leave the scene immediately, disposing of the wiped off gun as soon as possible. Such a gun cannot, of course, be registered to you, but one bought privately (through the classifieds, for example)."

Conspiracies

This 1978 newsletter says the Trilateral Commission is "no longer known only by those who are knowledgeable about international conspiracies, but is routinely mentioned in the daily news."

http://www.tnr.com/downloads/freedomApril1978.pdf

A 1986 newsletter names Jeane Kirkpatrick and George Will as "two of our enemies" and notes their membership in the Trilateral Commission.

http://www.tnr.com/downloads/RPIL12_86_1.pdf

In an undated solicitation letter for The Ron Paul Investment Letter and the Ron Paul Political Report, Paul writes: "I've been told not to talk, but these stooges don't scare me. Threats or no threats, I've laid bare the coming race war in our big cities. The federal-homosexual cover-up on AIDS (my training as a physician helps me see through this one.) The Bohemian Grove--perverted, pagan playground of the powerful. Skull & Bones: the demonic fraternity that includes George Bush and leftist Senator John Kerry, Congress's Mr. New Money. The Israeli lobby, which plays Congress like a cheap harmonica."

http://www.tnr.com/downloads/solicitation.pdf

Middle East

A 1989 newsletter compares Salman Rushdie to Ernst Zundel, a Canadian Holocaust-denier.

http://www.tnr.com/downloads/reportapril1989.pdf

The March 1987 issue of The Ron Paul Investment Letter calls Israel "an aggressive, national socialist state."

http://www.tnr.com/downloads/RPIL387.pdf

Other Documents: Paul has had a long association with the Ludwig von Mises Institute, a libertarian think tank based in Auburn, Alabama. The think tank was founded by Lew Rockwell, who served as Paul's congressional chief of staff from 1978 to 1982.

This March 1995 letter from Lew Rockwell advertises the Mises Institute's upcoming conference on secession (at which Paul spoke): "We'll explore what causes [secession] and how to promote it."

http://www.tnr.com/downloads/misesmarch95.pdf

An advertisement for the Mises Institute's 1995 secession conference--to be held in Charleston, "hotbed of America's two great secessions, against Britain and D.C."

I agree, he is a lot of fun. I might support some of his economical views but he's definitely a kook. I just really get bored with press that has to dig so far back in history to discredit someone as irrelevant as RP.

(He's a nice guy in real life, I met him few times at Mises Institute events and he sounds like a levelheaded bloke but on the other hand I'm not really surprise about his racist/homophobic comments. He's immigration policy is also nothing to write home about.)

As to tnr expose it's a little stretched out. It's pretty well known in libertarian circles that most of these newsletters were written (or at least ghostwritten) by someone else (I know who) who has questionable positions on race/gays/immigration. This was already out years ago when Paul was running for president and other offices, just this time the journalist really put everything together and (almost) did a very complete research. The tnr likes to discredit anyone who is in any way anti Israel and it also helps in this case that Paul is a direct threat to Giuliani who they (tnr) support.

I couldn't give a fuck, I don't vote.
