I'd like to see an asian guy with a style similar to the LV model in page 4. It is a style i've always wanted but will never be able to get cause of my shitty asian hair. I've had the asian style with the layering and matte look for years now and it's starting to shit me. It seems every asian guy wants to look like an anime character these days.

Try shaving your hair, when your hair grows back, it'll grow back with a different texture. Shave your hair, until it grows back to something you like.

I've seen Asian guys have that hairstyle on that model, but I've never seen it look right.

Each Asian guy doesn not want to look like an anime character, anime characters want to look like Asian guys! :P

My hair is puffy, but the length in the front is almost the same and not puffy. The front looks exactly like the pix, but the rear sides and the rear is puffy. WHAT TO DO, superfuture, "what to do?!"?

Cut the side and rear hair parts a bit more but making sure to keep it thick. Then use your product to make it look sharp.

Lemme bump my question:

What's product can I use for a matte finish and a semi-strong hold. I want to be able to move my hair through out the day. My hair is a bit wavy, so sometimes the ends curl, I need something to hold them straight, if any product could do such. Any suggestions?

Schwarzkopf products can do this.

If you have short hair, Use Clay which is purely matte. One of the best clay is Sebastian Xtah Crude Clay. It gives the ultimate hold which can last whole day long. Your hair have to be really dry to use clay. Blow dry is compulsory. Blow dry the hair in the direction and shape that you want before styling. To apply clay, put a coin-sized amount in your palm and rub it in between your palms. If the clay is quite hard, blow with a hairdryer first so that the clay melts a little and then rub it on both your palms. The trick here is to get an even spread of the clay on your hands.

If you have short hair, the clay have to be applied from the roots to the end of the hair. If you have medium or long hair, the clay only needs to be applied from the middle to the ends of the hair. Applying clay to the roots creates volume which makes your hair looks like an afro if you have long hair.

Another alternative to the Sebastian Xtah Crude Clay is Gatsby Spiky Edge. However, spiky edge is more glossy. They are both about the same strength.

If you have long hair, i suggest not using clay as clay is very dry. Use some other wax from the Moving Rubber Range like the purple, orange or green one. The Orange one is specifically for wavy styles(if you have permed hair).

Ultimately the most important advice is condition your hair regularly so that it remains soft and easy to be styled.

but all of this is useless if you got a lame cut.

Correct my last post. What is the best hairspray to use with gatsby styling clay? My hair is quite thick...and dark.

have you tried Gatsby hairspray?

Hairspray is really secondary compared to the clay that suits you. In my experience, getting any brand wouldn't have much of a difference.

I don't know why I never thought of this.

Just tried it just now with my Gatsby Wax and it works wonders.

forgive me if this has been covered already but where can one get spice sisters wax in nyc?

Hairmate near St. Marks sells Arimino Spice Sisters.

I think they have the freeze wax and some other ones.

Kinda expensive (well they are expensive in japan, compared to...say... gatsby).

Blue is the freeze wax (a lot of kids mix it with other spice sisters wax), which is the hardest wax Arimino makes.

Green is the hard wax and its the second strongest.

I spray some anti-frizz heat defence liquid from Tresmme first. Then i blow dry my hair downwards and forwards to tame the waves and frizzies. Next i spread Sebastian Xtah Crude Clay on my hand evenly and apply evenly to my whole hair. Then i lift up sections of hair appling the clay from the mid-length to the ends only. I add the finishing touch by twisting and clumping together sections of hair by using my fingers. Finally i tousle with the top part of my hair to create some spikyness and height.

Milspex, what are you using now? My hair si a hit similar, Id like to try whatever you use. Also, any special technique you use? Does the product last all day? Can you move it aorund during the day?

I`m using some Uno "clay" (more like a cream) right now but its pretty shit. I`m gonna try out Nakano but I cant get it in my area.

No special technique, just get a layered & razored cut and blow dry my hair most days. Yeah its pretty flexible.

Hair straighteners ! :D :D

I said it before, still must be said again but they pretty much make your hair asain like and a million times easier to style, doesnt matter if they're considered gay.

I heard they fuck up your hair later.

Anyway its all bullshit, most white guys dont need straighteners to make their hair look "asian".

Half of white guys have straight hair and can make their hair look "asian" by simply paying for a decent layered haircut.

If you go to the chain place and pay $10 no matter what you ask for the bitch isnt going to layer your hair, shes gonna cut in short back and sides and one length on top. If you pay around $50 most stylists (asian or white or whatever) are gonna cut in different lengths (so the short pieces support the longer), chunks out, razor if you ask for it and you`re gonna have a more 3D volumised haircut.

I`m whiter than white (English and Irish ancenstory), have never used a straightener and people think I`m asian/half asian all the time just because of the style of haircut I get.

"anime style" haircuts are just more popular in Asia. In the `80s a lot of whites had similar cuts tho I think.
