Iam in need of a chainstitch hemmingjob for my Fullcounts,do they offer this service?If not ,anybody else know where I can get it done in europe?

as far as I know there is no chainstitch hemming service in the UK but superdenim were looking into it. 45rpm in france does it I think and haberdashery in sweden.

Will check 'em out and maybe test them on some skulls. I'll report back when i know a bit more.

Ok just got in touch with Son OF A Stag on the phone. They are waiting from threads from most of the major companies. The person i spoke to tells me they have promised him them in a week or two apparently. He did say though that he is yet to speak to Evisu but they are on his list.

Cost is going to be £20 though its free if the item is bought in store. They have a union special as you can see from the website and the service will be done in store on saturday only but they are going to be trying to have it 2-3 days a week later on.

I shall try to be one of the first inline for it but cant promise anything.

I spoke to the owner a couple of weeks ago and they already have threads from Lee and Edwin, which appear to be 2 of their major lines. I'm not sure if they have hired the machinist yet as they were still in negotiations then. It's just around the corner from my work and I have an old pair of Edwin ED-69s that I'm willing to use as a guinea pig and report back. I've been in the shop quite a few times and the owner is a friendly, knowledgeable chap.

Chainstitcher should be up and running in the next few weeks.

He's waiting for a shipment of Studio D'Artisan and plans to carry LVC in the New year

Rudy did mention £20 when I was in last weekend. I think he had to fork out a fair amount of £££ for that Union Special. Good to know he has the machine up and running.

As other SuFu-ers will know, Cary at http://www.departmentofworks.com has finally got his Union Special up and running properly. He has my SDA103 at the moment, and I'll post photos when I get them back.

He's at Greenwich market, my manor, most weekends, doubtless he'll post soon on prices. He had an offer of free hemming for the first 10 SuFu posters. More details, including Union Special porn shots, on this thread.

Chainstitch costs a score but it's def a job well done. Watch what you say to the guy who owns the store though. Let on you know anything about anything and he'll bend your ear for time and a half

I'll check out with Dale and son of a stag regarding getting stitching fixed on my Skulls. A small job but want it done well. Might get the crotch reinforced for the future while I'm at it.
