cant believe Kid lost, hopefully it was just rust from being away so long. the Canseco fight was pretty sad when i thought about how he was just doing it for the money, but it was pretty funny when he was running away and somehow appeared to strain his knee/leg because i could tell he had him right where he wanted him and was about to shock the world with a flying knee or a jumping spinning backfist

i think at this point Hughes is just too old/past his "prime" to matter anymore. He'd said before he had 1 fight left and it was for Serra. I'm not a huge fan of Hughes, but i hope that he just bows out gracefully.

It feels good to see Hughes in the ring. I hate him as a person, and he's clearly not able to compete at the highest level but i'll be goddamned if it isnt amazing to see him go for a double and pass guard (which he didn't actually try to do for this fight?).

I still think Rashad is the only one that beats Machida. He was just way too timid and let Machida continously create the angles and close distance. You just cant do that with Lyoto, he'll fuck you up. Rashad has the speed, strenght, and size to compete with him. But he would have to take a step outside of his counter puncher role to truely compete. I thought thats what he would do, but I was mistaken.

There were exchanges, yes, and Rashad pretty much lost those. However there was the exchange where Rashad was able to land a few punches. There was a very nice hook combo that i remember distinctly. Rashad also didn't talk any shit, you made that up.

Machida isnt THAT fast as far as punches go, he just throws well put together comibnations. For example, he kicks or jabs to his left and immediately does this jab like thing to his right which ALWAYS lands because its a natural reaction to either curl up and take the punch/kick or move out of distance to YOUR left, directly into his fist. He's a great fighter, and I give him his props. Id like to see how he does against a fighter thats on his level and brings the fight to him.

Rashad lost this match because he was scared, and didnt know what to expect. Everytime a punch was landed it was because Rashad was just trying to do too much leaving himself off balance and open to combinations. If you allow Machida to be the agressor and his crazy karate angles, he's going to put you down no matter what.

A counter puncher will never beat Lyoto.

overall the 30 minute superhulk undercard was 10x better than the entire ufc show

i have a friend in korea who is pretty close to hong man choi. word is the whole tumor fiasco was bullshit - supposedly hong man choi is in bad shape physically because he parties it up every night. i'm honestly not too sure if the nigga's telling the truth or not, but i do know for sure that he does know hmc.

any of you guys watch the Nover vs. Bradley undercard fight? im not really sure what the ref was thinking, because initially he stops the fight and try to hold Bradley back from doing anymore damage but then realizs that Nover is on the ground still kicking back so he kinda pushes Bradley in the back almost to like saying "all right, keep going he can still fight..."

The biggest problem for me is he just kind of grabbed him and held on while the guy was punching, saw Nover try to roll through to open guard, and then stopped the fight once he'd recovered.
