And each pair costs less than 5 dollars to manufacture. The philanthropy aspect is nice, I guess, but it's mainly there to make the people who buy them feel better about themselves, which in turn drives up sales. The step margin they enjoy on each sale is why they made something like 4+ million (profit) on their first 100,000 pairs. It's just philanthropy for profits' sake, which I feel is wrong.
