quite liked it, but I really like Carlax and love Denis Lavant so I'm biased.

I can understand how it got it's cult status. Still amazing today and probably as shocking. I work 5 minutes away from where those kids used to accost, place looks same but the surroundings are so much nicer. Still, if you look close enough and know, you still see Heroine pushers in Berlin.

what did you think?

I liked De Rouille et D'Os a lot. I feel Marion Cotillard is a lot better when she can act in French. A bit surprised by the ending, but maybe I'm just jaded by the usually more pessimistic outlook these kind of European films tend to have?

did you like "brother" fanboy? been meaning to watch that for a while.....

digital i enjoyed it, matthias is a pretty great actor in my opinion and it certainly was an interesting and original story line. what did you think?

Yeah the actor is great in this one. His character and the story vaguely reminded me of poetic realism (like Jean Gabin in La Bête humaine, which could have been a title for this one): something fucked up happens in the past, and you have no way of escaping it.
