these will be coming out soon in a track version. surprisingly light.

front ISO version.

in theory, these will make a damn stout wheel. especially when paired up with a deeper section rim.

and really...they're quite light. odd looking, but light.

theres another forum trick track and alot of their users have the volume cutter. apparently there is a new fork due out in march? (which is a stronger bmx style fork)

they like it their cause you can bar spin and its pretty tough. (although personally not a huge fan of doing barspins and stuff)

seriously go on bike forums and read those threads about painting, spray painting, powder coating, sandblasting, riding it raw, etc

in all seriousness, if you're over 200# and want a solid rim get open pros. everyone wants a bomb proof wheel and in the wheelsets i've had, my suzue promax to open pros have seen two minimal trues in 5 years. i also used a thicker gauge spoke on them, but they are beasts.\

edit ... the open pros definitely aren't the best looking rim out there, especially if you want something back, but they'll rip it up.

I had great love for Mavic's rims about 8+ years ago, but I had three Open Pro's crack at the eyelets. I do think they are some of the best looking rims.

Then it was serving messenger duty, but still. That was the word amongst the inner sanctum.

22/Male/Cali. You?

Damn I feel old saying 22 :L...

PICS!!!

Not 100% complete, but Im stoked. SHOULDA been done on my birthday (Tuesday) but nooooo...

DSCF12461.jpg

Upgrade:

Suzue Discos to Mavic Open Pros.

DSCF12471.jpg

Upgrade:

Fizik Arione. Was supposed to trade a friend for a black one, then sell the Motobecane, but I got dicked. Therefore, beater bike.

DSCF12481.jpg

Upgrade:

Thomson Seatpost (where is it?!)

Free Bontrager Super light seat (THANKS SUMMIT!) [like they would read this.]

Still need to:

- Wrap Nitto B123s with Cinelli Tape, and throw onto Cannondale. (White tape?)

- New Risers on beater Motobecane. (White grips or Red Ourys? I have both :\)

- Swap Wheelset from Motobecane and Garneau.

- Get "Gold"KMC chain tmrw morning for Garneau.

- Decide when Im gonna throw on both MKS doubles... Theyre too pretty, theyre new :\.

- Not sure if Im diggin the stem on the Garneau. It looks ok, but kinda eh...

Sigh.

BB on the Garneau is slightly too long. About 2 threads are showing from the cups, on the left side. Oh well, I dont care. Its fully packed in as much as it could be, and I dont feel like running back and forth between two bike shops.

But, Im DONE! Finalfuckinly.

Better pics when I take them out for a test spin, to check the fittings.

fcuking aye. needs to be bumped to this page. this is beautiful, share the love!

Nice...

Fujis look real dope, esp if you strip the paint...

Just put a new (from my old bikes) seat post on the Cannondale. Still a cheapo, but the one Im using now keeps slipping, and my seat keeps getting out of position.

Took the bullhorns off the super short stem, and threw em on my other stem. Took a shit load of time to squeeze it in...

And that seat chain shit for my beater, so no one stills me Arione!

And that bike lane light wont do jack shit, once a cars lights get in distance.

Plus you can ride in the middle of the freeway, and make youre own bike lane. Which would be an entertaining video of someone trying to argue with the cops about it...

am i doing something wrong here?

i still get neck pain when riding // i changed the stem so its slammed back but it still doesnt do me any good.

(my forks have been cut to the bottom so i cant put any spacers :()

would a fork where i can put spacers be of ease to my neck?

yeah i'd try a new fork, or if you're willing to drop that some cash for comfort, get a bike fitting at a reputable shop. they'll be able to look at your riding position in person and tell you exactly what you need to do rather than trying to diagnose something over the internet.

yes i havent cycled this intensely ever in my life and i guess you can say road riding is new for me(been cycling on fixed since august).... i dont drive around here so the only way to get to school the fastest was by bicycle.

i decided to pick up fixed gear riding since it seemed simple to maintain (no complaints so far just my neck position)

alot of ppl that i've asked over the net think its just me getting used to it... but i really dont think pain in my neck should come with riding and getting used to it....

(maybe short stubby arms?)

Cannondale frame didn't work out :(

Checked out a low low mileage 08 Pista today for $300, but the toe overlap is really bugging me. Someone tell me I'll get used to it...

After seeing the 09 retail, I feel like I need to koppp it.

you'll get used to it. lol

Good chance you actually need a longer stem.

Too short makes you hunch your back and shoulders once you even out your weight, since your back and arms need to be approx. at the same angle.

Hunching makes your neck hurt.

i had a 140 mm stem and that shit was killer on me! my arms are 180 degrees when riding theres no angle on it or anything.

could it actually be my bar width? (its 16 tip to tip) and my shoulders are 17.5 im thinking because im focusing them inward it puts more strain as opposed to me riding with wider bars.

you ever check out la fixed. com or anything?

they always have ppl selling stuff and you can always haggle and snag good deals.

as for my situation i will be trying new bars (bullhorns with size 40) and seeing how that alleviates the situation.

if not, i guess a fork with a few spacers inbetween.

Got a skid patches question that nobody could answer so far! Maybe I've got more luck in this thread! :)

I ride 46 x 17! So theoretically I should have 17 skid patches, but I'm changing tires too fast, cuz the skids are mainly done on 2-3 positions of the tire. how's that possible?

(and yes, to 99% i skid with the same leg position!)
