FUCK.

Some bitch hit my buddy as we were riding a couple days ago, and fucked my friends face up pretty proper. His bike is totalled, minus his rear wheel, seat, seatpost, and bars.

Insurance is giving him $900 to build a new bike. What would you guys build up? Any ideas?

mlproject post up your build when you get it finished, i wouldnt mind seeing it. im posting updated pics of my bianchi conversion when i get done with the details and around to taking some pictures.

no doubt. i'm kind of thinking of selling this frame and getting a new one before i really do it since this has a very small dent in the top tube. it doesn't affect it structurally, but i kind of want to repaint and do it right, so I don't want to dump that much money into something that's not immaculate.

ok, so my bottom bracket sucks. I have a shimano 600 on my de bernardi now. I'm convinced it's the source of a few problems. And I got the thing for free. Any reccomendations on models, brands or open/closed?

i used to say go with the shimano ones, but my 3rd one in just over a year just took a shit. i got a campy catridge one and this one is so much smoother and apparently lasts forever. it was about $30, so like twice the shimano price, but so worth it.

I am aware the parts on these bikes aren't OMG DURA ACE NJS or anything like that but the dude isn't exactly a messenger so I doubt he'll be replacing everything on it in like 2 weeks.

It has nothing to do iwth OMGDURACENJS, it has to do with the quality of the parts. The cranks are the only thing that are really that decent (if they still run the truvativs). I've seen way too many cases of people stripping the hubs and shit like that, but most of the time that happens, i guess its n00b installation error.

still have a few copies of brutus 'NO BIKE NO LIFE' ($25 shipped) left and one more of the keirin special issue of jitensiya-jin ($50 shipped). both issues were japan only.

Brutus has a MASH & SF photo feature with a lot of NYC/SF heads in another article.

Jitensiya-Jin features most of the larger Keirin builders with TONS of bike porn.

i'll also trade these for bike parts. right now i'm in need of a slew of jams for my concept build.

@mlproject

i've been riding a kiloTT for about 4 months now, many harrrd miles.

bombing hills, skipping on the way down, jumping gaps, potholes, long skids

nothing is broken on the stock drivetrain. rims are still true.

tires are kinda shitty, and have already replaced the rear, front's still good though.
