what are the benefits of cold soaking before hot soaking? to get some starch off?

I just did the cold soak first because I wasn't sure how much shrinkage I wanted...

I did do a cold soak at first then followed up with a hot soak and just did another hot soak last week.... I stayed true to size (30)

Are you able to do the top button post-hot soak? Is there any room for saggage?

Seems a tad extreme to dispatch my jeans across the pond just to be photographed. We ain't all in the US.

Anyway, the wear some people have got makes me think this contest is going to be pretty easy to judge.

By the looks of things, Cheap is going to have no arcuates or red tab soon anyway, so the Levi's thing isn't such a big deal if you're hard on your jeans.

I am also a bit surprised at how fast these jeans are going.

I mean, you guys are now, what? 3 months into the contest? And jeans are fading like crazy, if I remember correctly people had threads breaking within the first week. Some of these jeans look like they're not that far from blowing out.

And there's still 3/4 of a year to go.

Everybody's jeans are really starting to look amazing, but isn't a bit too fast. I understand that it is instant satisfaction to see your jeans turn out like Poly's in 3 months, but I'm curious how much will be left of these in the long run......
