The 28 will be fine, trust me. They run big for sure. Also, the leg cut is pretty wide, not a slim cut. I think you will be fine.

As I returned the 2 pair today, I saw even MORE new selvage at gap. One of the mannequins had on a dark, undistressed pair with purple selvage. So thats in addition to the Gough, Morrison, and Straight Rigid on the site. At least 4 models now.

I have both the Morrison's and the Gough's. Truthfully, I like the fit on the Morrison's better than the Gough's. The Gough's are more of a baggy fit through the leg than the Morrison's. The only complaints I have about the Morrison's is the 'pre-honeycombs' and 'pre-whiskers.' Besides that, I love the fit and they were great for $39.99.

My Gough's seem a little too long even though they're a 30 Length (the same as my Morrison's). This could be from them being more of a baggy fit. Would soaking these possibly help? (Cold or Warm?) I really don't want to lose too much color but I'd like to alternate between the two jeans daily, but as of right now I feel these Gough's are just a little too long.

Any help's reccomended. Either way, for $39.99 for each pair, I have no major complaints against either jeans. I'm pretty satisfied.

Wow, just got my Gough's in the mail. The denim is amazing for $20. Compared to the Morrison's, the denim is SDA quality. :P These things fit me a whole lot better than the Morrison's did and that's before I soak them. Now I guess I have to debate whether or not there is any point in soaking them, but we shall see. Pics tomorrow.

You could always do what I did. Soak them in hot water inside out so they lose some of the starch. Than when they're almost dry, iron the whiskers and honeycombs out. Once I was finished they were flat with no wrinkles. Lots better, and no indigo loss. Now I can make my own whiskers and honeycombs.

I concur. I'm thinking if they do some magical shrink action in that area, they'll turn out to be pretty sweet jeans. If they stay the same, I'll have an awesome piece of denim to play football in and never wash. It's win/win.

i usually wear a 30, so i sized down to a 28. they were tight before the soak. after soak...they are now super tight. i feel like these are taking awhile to stretch back out. have you guys seen a lot of stretching happening.

yes, i bought a pair in 33 because i couldnt button a pair of 32s but after soaking them and wearing it for over a month...i think they've stretched out to a 36 on the waist. They are loose even with my belt on :(

I have been wearing my goughs for 2 months straight and I have only noticed a minimal ammount of stretch, maybe 1/2 inch in the waist? But, bear in mind I didnt soak them prior to wearing.

I just got my gough's today. I like the fit and cut. To a denim noob like me, the quality seems really good. I usually wear a 30 but they only had 28 left so i thought i'd give it a try. They're pretty tight right now. I wish i coulda gotten a 29 or maybe even 30. Should I still soak em. Everyone seems to be giving em a hot soak before wearing. Is it only because they wanna shrink em. I wanna shrink the length but not the waist or any other part of the width. Will they stretch back out to normal or possible more if I soak em? I really don't want these jeans any tighter than they already are.

Do a cold soak, then put them on damp. It shouldnt make that much difference. I think if you hot soak them, you wont be able to wear them. Putting them on damp should allow you to stretch the waist to your liking.

the only reason to is youre buying shrink to fit jeans, and the gap jeans are not.

really, unless they are japanese repros, or say shrink to fit, then you dont need to soak.

Nah. My pair shrunk significantly (~1" in the waist, 2" inseam) after warm soak and medium dryer. But if it already fits perfect as it is, my advice would be not to soak at all and follow the tag instruction (only dry clean).

I'm really short. lol thast why i wanna shrink the length. Is there a way to shorten jeans without making em tighter?

Get it hemmed.

I got a pair of 33's and wish I had a pair of 32's, which fit much better. I got a pair of the rainbow selvedge morrisons and I really like the fit of those better (32's), but hate the pre-creasing, which i took out by ironing. If you soak your Gough's you will soften them up and perhaps shrink the length. I did a 3 hour hot soak with boiling water (6 liters of boiling water and some really hot tap water), I found no effect in shrinking the waist. I am pissed that they are not crispy any more. I have about 3 weeks of wear in these. I think I am going to find some 32's and keep the 33's for a baggy look.

For sure, take that damn white tag off. Find a razor blade or some small sharp sicssors and cut that crap out...
