Homemade Denim Creations

Please post your handmade/homemade denim creations here. (sorry I couldn't find any existing thread like this, please move if there is and I'm sorry)

I had my LVC 1947 501 (Rough Rinse) hemmed (from 34" to 29") and so the cut-off was quite big that I thought of making it into something useful.

This is 100% handsewn/hand-stiched (because I don't have a sewing machine)

Hope you like it!

I'm not a professional tailor (nor have had training) so I don't know how you call these stitches (if they are even considered as standard stitches)

There are two parts, the top (which shows the weft side as I wanted the selvedge to be visible, made of two parts to be joined by a zipper later) and the bottom which shows the warp side of the denim.  Below you can see I was doing a stitch to prevent unravelling

I was not able to take a photo while I was attaching the zipper as I was very pre-occupied (it was the most difficult part)

And the finished product, selvedge visible from the top

The bottom part

It could probably contain about 60 coins

The same material was made for the lining (does it qualify as 25oz now? :D) basically to make it more durable, but was more difficult to handsew considering the thickness

No visible stitches from the outside, except for the part where I joined the selvedge and the zipper (hidden by the selvedge though and only visible when you inspect it)

Now, can't wait for it to age and stain my pocketbags :D
