I have had a fairly big hiatus from black metal for a few years, but there seems to be a fair few newer bands re-invigorating the sound that I need to check out. From reading various online zines and such it seems that the US and France have a whole horde of great bands.

i used to have this plan to start a BLACK BLACK METAL band wherein all the members were african-american and all their songs were anti-white.

but i wanted to join and can't because i'm not black. but goddamn i would really

love to get this project off the ground. i think it would be so fucking amazing.

the point would be that the band is ridiculously good and KVLT AS FVCK and

even nazi-metallers can't deny how awesome they are.

i'm even thinking they could, instead of drawing on pagan mythology and shit, pull from african animism and voodoo lore and totally be all about the fucking occult and have songs like "BANTU SACRIFICE OF BLOOD" and "RENDING PALE FLESH TO BONE"

and fucking demonic BURUNDI-BEAT MEETS BLAST BEAT percussion just fucking mind-blowingly intense shit never heard of ever before.

omg i want to be a fucking svengali so bad. i need to find a way to make this happen.

this would be the best fucking record of the year. this record would instantly go into the

classic albums of the '00s thread.

That is a very good album, very disappointed I missed them live in the UK some weeks back.

Not so much a fan of the previous stuff, but the newer material continues with the ideas from that record.

Yeah I had heard great things previously about this record and it hasnt dissapointed. There was nothing else remotely interesting in the metal section of my local record store so I went with a chance...

Looks like ill have to put in an amzon order for the other stuff im after..

What are other good online stores, stocking metal in particular? Back in the day I used to use RedStream and The End Records and they are OK but anything better?

The End has a pretty comprehensive stocklist and is pretty quick shipping even over sea's. If you drop me a pm later on so i remember I could send you a pretty big list of small, but generally UK based distros?

Relapse records has a very big selection that crosses most metal sub-genres, as does Century Media.
