Leather Patch Shrinking/torture

Someone was asking about how to shrink and age the leather patch on jeans (rnrswitch?)----------well I found it at the REAL JEANS site; the idea is to pour boiling hot water on the patch only------it will blacken and shrink.

REAL JEANS rules----------japanese denim crack for sure.

no detergent or anything, just water for a short spin in 30 °C. No tumble dry. I killed it some more when putting them on.

Me too. I think that a leather patch that has been treated with oil and aged for many months looks much better than an ugly dried up lump of leather dangling off your jeans.
